IN-1 cathode poisoning after 2 months, even with number rotating every minute

Well, that didn't take long. I knew this would happen eventually but wasn't expecting it this soon. On the plus side in normal clock operation it still looks great. I have so many IN-1s I figure it's better enjoying them in use than have them collect dust, even if they get a little poisoning. I'm gonna see how long the tubes last before the digits in use for displaying the time start to get affected.

I'm amazed you didn't have any shorted cathodes. I had that happen on several of mine and I gave up using them, except for an occasional ride in the microwave oven. Also, I'm not a fan of the upside-down-2 used as a '5'.

Have you tried depoisoning at higher current, say 8-10mA ?

Funny thing about the IN-1 is the sockets cost more than the tube !

Nope they're being driven off a cheapo Chinese IN-12 kit providing 2.5ish MA direct drive
