I see on your site the separate PIR sensor.  Is this something that you might make available for purchase?  Also, does the PIR shut down the HV power supply when it switches off?  I ask only because I would like to add a PIR to one of my clock kits I picked up on Kickstarter.  Thanks for any insight.

I'm not quite sure what is being referred to here, but if you mean the BadNixie PIR, there are 2 versions of it - the wired one which is the standard PV Electronics one, and the wireless one. The wireless one uses the MOD-SIX wireless protocol to communicate with compatible clocks. At the moment there is no documentation or code samples available for people who might want to use it with other clocks.

To answer your other question, neither version of the PIR shuts down the HV supply. While there has always been a HV enable / disable jumper on the HV supply in the MOD-SIX, it was put there as a diagnostic aid (AKA "don't electrocute yourself when testing other boards"). It was never bused through the TDU boards to the processor, so there is no way to remotely shut down the PSU on the current clocks. It has been discussed as a possibility for future designs, but that depends on how much of the existing hardware will be used - I haven't asked about what's coming next, honest!

That reminds me - I should get the revised MOD-SIX manual to Michael so he can post it.

I was actually referring to my PIR mod of the Dalibor clock. And this one it does shut down the Taylor supply. I interrupt the HV enable line to the Taylor supply. Pretty basic. I also added a switch to bypass the PIR functionality so the clock can operate without it.

Terry's explanation below is accurate pertaining the MOD-SIX

Guys this was a miscue, I tried to delete it pretty quickly, but I guess I wasn't quick enough

Intentionally deleted post and link. See my other post regarding his clock
