I already contacted him.
He said, untested and appears to know circuit design. I asked if he would use a plasma ball – He said he doesn’t have one and is busy moving.
I made a very fair offer, but then no response.

You should. J I might buy them from you. I only have about 30.
I admit, he is cheaper than the other seller on ebay; however, the other seller guarantees his and I know they work.

You think L38 ($50) is the going rate, but you are only willing to pay L20 ($25) each?
When the other seller originally posted, he wanted $35 each which was why I bought so many. Because me and others ran his stock down quickly, he doubled his price and hasn’t sold any since. Also, he is providing NEW NOS in box units.
This new auction says used, no box and, may have signs of wear.
I didn’t say he was out of his mind. The price is fair, so I also put in a fair offer (close to his price).

Well, they sold for less than $50. I am 100% sure. J

Hello,
I can say with 100% certainty that they didn’t sell for $500+. To be clear, I am the buyer.
eBay is strange in that if you have an auction for $550 and you’re willing to accept offers in which you do, then the buyer pays the price offered, but strangely, ebay shows it sold at the full price.
Buyer wanted $550 + $4.53 shipping. I offered and paid less than $500 total.
So, market could be manipulated in that… I could post something (my autograph) for $1million, but accept an offer for $1, and ebay will show it sold for $1million. Then everyone thinks my autograph is worth $1million. J eBay ‘should’ state instead that it sold by best offer.

Thing to look for is that on sold item list from seller it will show item price with strike through (but no real price), Listing itself it does not show anything.
Watchcounter.com will render an item url with versioning flag too, which works well
https://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItemVersion&item=114080289782
I received the auction today.
Good and Bad news.
Bad news is that 1 of the 11 tubes is bad. Cracked at the base, but difficult to see.
I proposed a refund of 1/12th of the payment. 12th being the socket and known bad tube instead of requesting 1/11th.
So, 10 more tubes for the collection.
Does anyone have any information/interest on the socket? (Burroughs BIP9502)
