Brief flashback to almost good ol' B-7971 prices.

I found a B-7971 that I almost had for 60$ but someone tried to snipe it from me this morning... still $102.50 for a tube these days ain't half bad:

Granted that isn't the really good ol' days prices of buying from a barrel full of two tube boards but by today's standards it's not half bad.

Description doesn’t match the tube.   You confirmed it is the one pictured?

Yeah the guy doesn't know his tubes very well I think.  The box is definately wrong.

That pinball score thing is pretty cool Michail.  I like them too... Pretty neat.  I'm going to Cisco Live next week I'm San Diego so I'm a little busy but I've got a bunch of kits and soldering to do.  I did put an og-4 dekatron spinner together.  First I want to solder the b5971 SS together.  I might need a decent picture of yours from both sides if that's possible?  It might help speed it up a bit.  What else is new.  I just got message the sealed box of A-101 dekatrons from Russia is at the post office waiting for me.  I received the box of og-4 already.  Martin Forsberg from neonixie-l had been helping me with more advanced dekatron stuff... Especially the A-201 polyatrons.  He knows a lot about it.  I think I've caught the bug from you maybe lol even worse now.  I love this stuff.  I follow your videos... Good stuff M.  I haven't counted in a while but I think I have well over 20 maybe closer to 30 7971's now.  I bought a bunch of other stuff too.  I lost out on a nice fluke 5.5 digit multimeter I bought though... It's vfd display broke during shipping that came today... Sucks I really was looking forward to using that.  Did most of the pinball wheels look pretty good?

Got one pinball clock up and running.   Just needs some code changes for the feature.   Like to not run in the middle of the night, etc.

 

Ordered a over and controller kit to be able to toast the parts to the circuit boards.

 

I should take a picture (more over a video) to show it off.

 

Get your smartsockets working yet?
