I want to get some LEDs in place them in a raspberry pi clear case. I figured I would ask on here because the knowledge would be common :) I am looking for 5mm LEDs that would do a wide degree angle....like 90 degrees or 360 degrees if possible. I would like them to be frosted(I think) so the light is fuller.

Here's the hard part...with the above criteria that I am looking for....I would like to find some Magenta colored LEDs. I intend to do blue as a base....when the cpu goes up 5% have the magenta LED light up. I could do blue and red which also makes Magenta, but I think I would get a stronger color if I could find a dedicated Magenta color LED. I googled around and haven't found any with this criteria(I did find one LED that was Megenta, but it was 15 degrees and clear). Anyone know where to find Magenta with the above criteria?

Don't know if you prefer surface mount or not, but these through-hole pink LEDs have a 110° viewing angle.

Why don't you just use a surface mount RGB LED?   You get the angle and whatever color you want. You can diffuse as desired.

I  don't think I can....I will be using the GPIO pins which have legs.

Use the led you found and "cloud" the lens with some very fine sandpaper. ..

I looked the ROITHNER pricelist page in question up for you. It was hard to find.
Prices in € and US$

Also some solvents will do that job, just as cyanoacryllic glue

In the spirit of neon, I should mention that I was able to get a bright pink glow from a NE-2 bulb some years ago by pumping a bit too much current thru it. No idea how long it will last under those conditions, but it was interesting. I guess it's time to test a few bulbs to see if it's reproducible, and take a peek with a spectroscope.

Not quite magenta, and not an LED, but definitely neonixie.....

If you look at the Roithner Laser price list I sent before, you can find a LED in 'peach' color. I think that is what you want.
