The New Orleans City Council is preparing to sign a Cooperative Endeavor Agreement (CEA) with BioDistrict New Orleans. This project will affect a large portion of Mid-City. The Mid-City Neighborhood Organization is sponsoring this forum. Plans for the BioDistrict will be presented, and there will be an opportunity for questions from attendees.
Article from August 2021:

"The Greater New Orleans Biosciences Economic Development District (GNOBEDD), now referred to as BioDistrict New Orleans, is a state-enabled economic development district (with taxing and bonding authority) that was created by the State of Louisiana in 2005 and charged with the responsibility of growing both the programmatic and physical development components of the biosciences sector of the New Orleans economy." - from https://downtownnola.com/biodistrict-new-orleans/

Again, a sincere thanks to all of you who have called and written the Mayor and the Council Members regarding the Cooperative Endeavor Agreement.  The Biodistrict and the City have been convinced that revisions are necessary.

MCNO will hold a public meeting on Thursday, January 20, 2022, 6:30-8:00 PM, at Warren Easton High School, 3019 Canal St., where the Biodistrict will give a presentation of their most recent revision of the CEA.  This is the first opportunity for residents and business owners to hear, first-hand, in a neighborhood forum, from the Biodistrict and to discuss this proposal which can have a long-lasting impact on the city and its residents.

I have attached an updated fact sheet which summarizes the situation, some of what has been accomplished and some of the things that still need to be done.  Your attendance at this meeting is imperative to be informed and to voice your concerns.

Warren Easton is a public school so masks will be required and the cafeteria is large enough for people to spread out.  Hand sanitizer will be available.

SEE THE INFORMATION SHEET THAT DETAILS THE POSSIBLE IMPACTS OF THE DISTRICT HERE

I hope the territorial cop wars don't disrupt the meeting.
