A simple plumbing job turned into broken tiles, blood and curses. I'm out so we can have running water after this dance recital I'm at.

I am going to cap it and head over, but I'll be pretty late. The recital is over around 6 or so.

For you winter drinking pleasure: https://www.allrecipes.com/recipe/180917/tom-and-jerry-batter/

My great uncles always made it with Wild Turkey.

I'm sad I missed whatever conversation brought up this recipe, but I'm interested in trying it.  I'll also toss this into the mix:
https://www.artofdrink.com/history/eggnog-recipes

I make the White House Eggnog listed there every year in half batches just for my own consumption (full batches if there's company):
I'm not picky about the brandy but I use Myers dark rum as an easy-to-find-anywhere close approximation of the 'barrel proof rum' the article mentions.  I've used everything from whole milk to cream for the "rich milk", I think of late I've used half-and-half or half half-and-half and half whole milk (that's not confusing at all).

I also tried the hotpot recipe many years ago.  It wasn't bad, but it was weird.  A British friend told me I'd made it pretty much spot on, but I've never felt the urge to make it again.

Neat. But I have to say I hate recipes that use "x wine glasses of" as a measurement. Just give me ounces or mL, please.
