Hello everyone

NER has to get its 2026 Brevet Calendar to RUSA in September of 2025.

Next year I was thinking of hosting a May 200k from my home in Providence. What would riders prefer; the 2025 Bikes and Dikes Route, or the 2021 PDP Providence-Duxbury-Providence Route?

FYI - I will have a new route for next August 28th. It's a little bit different. It will be a one way night ride from Provincetown starting at 8 pm, to Providence. There will be a full moon that night. If the Provincetown Fast Ferry repeats their schedule of this year, then you will be able to take a Boston-Provincetown ferry leaving Boston at 5:30 pm, arriving in Provincetown at 7:05 pm.

After the ride will be a big breakfast at our home. Then riders will have to make a choice. Call it a 200k and take the MBTA back to Boston, or ride to Boston as a 100k perm. Riders might even to elect to register for the ride as a 300k (Provincetown-Providence-Boston)

All the best

I don’t have strong feelings about Bikes and Dines vs PDP, but I love the idea of an overnight traverse of the Cape. Did you put it on Tsun’s calendar?

We did a fleche from Ptown to Old Saybrook, this year-in fact we came across Ted on that ride-maybe you have the route all figured out already- Eric must still have the route, was really nice with a maximum amount of bike path riding-John

Many years ago a bunch of randonneurs organized an overnight ride from Boston to P-Town although it wasn't an official ride of any group. It was a lot of fun and the route was well designed. I think it used the Bourne Bridge and some of the canal path.

Having ridden to P-Town many times, doing it at night is 10x better than during the day. Although the section between Boston and Plymouth is pretty congested and suburban. I'd suggest the ride start from the Kingston train station (easy train from Boston, lots of parking) and add mileage after the bridge instead of starting from Boston directly.

The ride will be a 1 way from Provincetown to Providence with a start correlating with the fast ferry schedule per Ted's design.

With the caveat that I missed Bikes and Dikes, I would prefer that one and not the Providence-Duxbury-Providence one. Plymouth is very much not my favorite part of our great Commonwealth. :)

One thought about Provincetown to Providence: Audax style?
