We have had a lot of these types of instances. We mark their Services Type as "N: Special Ed Services" on their enrollment and then if they are actually seen in our building for a certain time/class period then we put that into their schedule (only that course--not a full schedule). This is a way for you to track their attendance then and like Deb said, NDE would consider them being there for only one period as being there 100% of their day. We also mark their "Percent Enrolled" on their enrollment accordingly. So, for example, for a student who only attends one course with us, I believe their Percent Enrolled is 11. This way they stay out of NSCAS, etc. We figure this based on the number of minutes in a period over our full instructional minutes (so for us 48 minutes out of 430 minutes daily). This can all become somewhat complicated in terms of reporting, though, so please feel free to give me a call about it if you want because we have a lot of different cases/issues we've run into for sure!
