DJ Lachapelle passed along a neat opportunity to own a set of screen prop replicas from the folks that brought you the Jeremy Brett Sherlock Holmes Podcast—

For a mere $300+S&H, you too, could own the replica set seen here:

I personally don't love the look of that Napoleon bust, but as you can see here, they're very authentic to the prop used on the television show, in fact, they're created from one of the surviving busts!

It's an additional $50 ($349.99) if you want one painted like in the television programme.

For me, shipping was $21.12, so the total cost with all the bells and whistles would be around $375.

Quite a bit of love and care goes into each one, so it's not a trivial thing, and don't forget you get all the rest of those items (pictured), slipper, photo of Irene Adler, farewell letter, etc.

How can there be a surviving original prop, you may ask? Well, they made a TON of them...around 40-50, just for this scene.

Hey all!
That is interesting. I'd like a Napoleon bust myself someday, but this one is priced outside my comfort zone, plus as noted, it's not an especially good likeness of the Emperor. I will have to content myself with 25mm toy soldiers in the meantime.

I wanted to say that if anyone in the NCT group decides to purchase one of these, don't pay for the sweatshop painting you'd probably get.  I will do the job for the same price and do a GOOD job, much more detailed, accurate, and spiffy.  Just let me know if the matter comes up. See the attached samples of my work from my own collection of scale model miniatures and soldiers, various sizes. Just FYI!

Those are incredible works of art, Kevin! Well done.

If anyone wanted to own a genuine bust of Napoleon and didn't want to break the bank, I recently saw this one on Amazon for $17

Hat's an extra $50!
^ this is very similar to the one I sent out a while back that was going for between $25 and $33 (no longer available), but I think this one is a worse likeness AND is way too expensive.

Here's the one I bought (and am happy with):

Ah! I looked up the maker, Danila, and it appears you can find them for $36, drop-shipped via Walmart now
https://www.walmart.com/ip/danila-souvenirs-French-Emperor-Napoleon-Bonaparte-Marble-Bust-Statue-Sculpture-5-2-White-13-cm/701797211

and apparently a black version from Amazon (I didn't look to see the details about it) for $35
