I went up solo (Johanna got stuck doing adult responsible work things—but fortunately I am much less of an adult and could still go myself!) to the UW Oshkosh's first meeting (this semester) of The Illustrious Guild of the Two-Hour Breakfast, led by our own relatively recently-joined Canary-Trainer, Sophie Schneider.
She did an excellent job of keeping the group of about 8 students (and two or three interloper/advisor/reporter) engaged in the story discussion. We covered one of my favorite stories, A Scandal in Bohemia, and I thought the members of the club did a fantastic job of plumbing the nooks and crannies that that story provides. They each brought their unique perspectives to the conversation and it was really enjoyable to hear their thoughts on encountering this story—most, for the first time. Sophie had a thoroughly marked-up copy of the Canon—it's got notes and highlighting in at least three different colors and media! That's so cool.
Here is a shot of some of crew, and some fun signage and decorations that Sophie hung for the meeting
I also had to stop and take a selfie at a local watering hole just off campus that caught my attention on the way to the meeting. Not all of the club members were of age, or I would've offered to buy them a round after the meeting:

There was a wide assortment of party favor snacks, food, drinks, at the meeting and overall, it was a stimulating discussion. I think Sophie and Oshkosh are going to do great things with that club! Also, I know Steve Mason is a lurker on this list—Sophie plugged the next Barque Lone Star book project, so hopefully you'll get some submissions from the college-aged folks from Oshkosh.
BTW, the UW Oshkosh Falcon cam points directly down at Molly McGuire's, so if you were watching last night, you might have caught a glimpse of a weirdo/Sherlockian park his car briefly, put on a silly bowler hat, take a selfie, and drive off into the night.
"A breakfast club that meets at night and a secret society that publishes directions..." Nice.
Congratulations to Sophie and her crew
and thanks for making me feel welcome,
