Hi,

I'm getting an error when I reading ascii surface files from one tomography set produced in amira 2019.2, the error reads:

Input:
 dfx<-read.hxsurf("myamirafile.surf")
Output:
Error in read.hxsurf("myamirafile.surf") :
  Bad triangle number: 650952

I have a loop pulling in all datasets in a folder, but none from this set reads. I've tested other sets, and they read in fine, so I'm a little worried about this. Any help is appreciated.

A

Dear Andy,

Thanks for your report. What is the source of these .surf files? It's been quite some time since I encountered one that gave trouble.

I would suggest that you file an issue here:

and include a couple of your "bad" surface files in a zip file as an attachment to the issue. If they contain sensitive or huge data then please just share them with me directly.

All the best,

Greg.

A note for anyone interested in future that there is a now a workaround using amira binary hxsurf files. See https://github.com/natverse/nat/issues/445 for details.
