Dgovscooos can now authoritatively confirm that Dr Chike Akunyili, husband to the late Prof Dora Akinyili, former NAFDAC DG has been assassinated.
It was gathered that he was assassinated by unknown gunmen at Umoji, Nkpor Anambra State on Tuesday while coming back from the Annual lecture of his late wife.
The Professor was shot point blank on the face and was left to die.
A deep gush was made on his face by the impact of the shot.
The Anambra State Police Command is yet to come up with a statement on the incident.

Frankly, I am deadly sick and tired of Nigerian cops and the judiciary allowing themselves to be subsumed by the ubiquitous corruption and apathy.

It started right in Obasanjo’s government when the very famous AG of the country was ‘executed’ by his enemies and Obasanjo’s Nigerian Police couldn’t ‘find’ the culprits because Obasanjo was involved in the killing. And he is free till date!

Following that precedent and example, we now have social superstars and millionaire cops, like Abba Kyari, that work only to enrich themselves and conjure phantom Fulani herdsmen - who are never found and prosecuted, instead of fighting the real local rise of criminality in all regions of the country. 

Yes, Buhari is to blame because the buck stops with him. But he is just one one and his lawyer VP - that was supposed to be his Idiagbon, has been missing action. 

Until recently, when he started preparing to ‘take his turn’ and be President.

But there are the hundreds of members of the National Assembly who can make new laws to combat this scourge - as the Constitution intended, and the people who should cry out to their representatives to act, instead of mindlessly yelling ‘secession!, secession!’, and egging on idiots and agendists like Igboho, Kanu, and Akintoye.

I really don't think Nebu is a supporter of IPOB's violence in Igboland. What Nebu and a number of Igbos find irksome is being told the whole truth by a non-Igbo.

I always notice that constructive criticism of Igbos by Igbos are acceptable by Igbos but not acceptable from non-Igbos. That is when Igbos go to ground to put on their oppressed garment and claim discrimination in Nigeria.

A number of people(Igbos and non-Igbos alike)on these fora have warned the moderate and sensible Igbos to stand up and ensure the miscreants running IPOB do not take over the leadership in Igboland to no avail.

Non-Igbo commentators were chastised as Igbo-haters while Igbos with moderate comments were labelled as Igbo traitors. Now, the IPOB misadventure had come home to roost. Is Igboland more or less secured now than pre-IPOB/ESN?

The timidity of Igbo majority and dogmatic approach which meant the minority forceful Igbos have forced their will on the majority timid and silent Igbos may yet still cause the total or near anhiliation of the Igbos. Igbo on Igbo killing everyday(not to talk of Non-Igbo on Igbo and vice versa)either for enforcement, revenge, security or for any reason at all has become the order of the day.

The governors or Ohaneze are not even proferring solutions or providing any credible leadership.....if you ask me, this is the calm before the storm.

Oga Afis was absolutely right when he faulted your comparison of a military dictatorship that came into power via a coup d'etat with a democratically elected president and VP.

In any case, Buhari was elected based on his perceived intolerance for corruption and indiscipline during that first stint as a military dictator that you referred to. However, as most people in the know will tell you, Idiagbon was the anchor of that government and most policies under their watch was propelled by his zeal.

Comparing a military dictatorship to a democratically elected government is a faux pas on your part and you should admit that.

As Oga Afis rightly pointed out to you, there is no specific duties given to the VP unless during incapacitation of the President. Osinbajo showed the stuff he is made of in the short stint when he was called in to stand in for the president. I'm sure you are aware of that.

In actual fact, me being a previous supporter of Buhari until lately, will go out on a limb to say that Osinbajo a substantive President will perform 1000% better than Buhari any day going by his antecedent.

I was tempted to sleep in this morning, until I remembered that today was the day that our deeply unserious class will decide whether to shut down the federal government in the midst of a pandemic, nihilistically crash the economy over the debt ceiling, and kill Joe Biden’s domestic agenda in order to save Joe Biden’s domestic agenda, or something.

Many of you are waking up to the news that Trump’s SuperPac has discovered that it is shocked, shocked to discover that Trump’s uber-lackey Corey Lewandowski sexually harasses women, which, as we know, is absolutely unacceptable and intolerable behavior for anyone other than the Pussy Grabber-in-Chief himself.

So Lewandowksi is out.

Corey Lewandowski, a longtime political adviser to Donald J. Trump, was removed on Wednesday from his role overseeing a super PAC supporting the former president after a donor accused him of making unwanted sexual advances and touching her inappropriately at a dinner in Las Vegas on Sunday night.

His replacement? The ethically-challenged former AG of Florida. Because, of course.

As Maggie Haberman notes, it’s unclear whether Corey’s exile will be permanent, since he has managed to wiggle himself back from disgrace in the past. But, she writes, in a sentence that deserves a place in a museum of American politics, “Aides to Mr. Trump insist this latest incident is different, particularly because it involves a donor to the former president.”

In other word, asses may be grabbed and thighs fondled, but the donor class shall not be molested. The MAGAverse has standards.

ICYMI, Politico had the story of Lewandowski’s handsy lechery… and it makes for an amazing read. I won’t spoil it by dwelling on the details of his repeated attempts to grab, touch, grope, and maul a Trump donor named Trashelle Odom. Suffice it say that both alcohol and assholery were involved, and it seems supremely unlikely that this was anything close to Lewandowski’s first offense.

“He repeatedly touched me inappropriately, said vile and disgusting things to me, stalked me, and made me feel violated and fearful,” she said in the statement about the dinner. “I am coming forward because he needs to be held accountable.”

Beyond the inappropriate touching, however, one detail deserves to be highlighted, because it reminds us about the sorts of people that are attracted to and thrive in Trump’s orbit.

According to the Politico account, Odom told another attendee at the fund-raiser “that she felt intimidated by Lewandowski’s claims that he has control over the former president’s orbit and can determine the fate of those around Trump.”

Lewandowski said no candidate receives the president’s endorsement without Lewandowski’s approval, Odom told the attendee.

In the statement from Odom’s attorney, Lewandowski is alleged to have said “repeatedly that he is very powerful and can destroy anyone,” and that he “is close with President Trump and can get anyone elected or can take anyone out.”

Strong my-dick-is-so-big, mafioso wanna-be vibes here, but also a glimpse into the darker recesses of the mentality of TrumpWorld, even if it comes from a drunken, horny spear-carrier.

The Trumpverse is a cult of bullying. And Mrs. Odom felt the threat.

“Corey was verbally and physically aggressive and forceful,” Odom alleged in a statement. “I was fearful for my physical safety.” She continued: "I was also fearful that Corey has the power to destroy and ruin everything my husband and I have been working on in our business, personal and charitable endeavors.”

Even though it’s not a new story, it is still worth reflecting on the fact that, until yesterday, Corey Lewandowski fit easily into TrumpWorld’s moral universe, and it is not a coincidence that Trump has managed to gather around him a collection of Coreys.

Think about the wretched refuse who have been drawn into that orbit: Not just Lewandoswki, but crooks like Steve Bannon, Paul Manafort, Roger Stone, and Bernie Kerik. Bigots like Darren Beattie, Stephen Miller, MTG, and various drecks on cable television. Grifters like Diamond and Silk, Jenna Ellis, and Dinesh D’Souza. Sleazoids like Jason Miller, Jerry Falwell, Jr., and Matt Gaetz. And, of course, nutjobs like the My Pillow Guy, Sidney Powell, and Michael Flynn. And don’t forget Rudy Giuliani.

I could go on, but you’ve lived through the last five years and are probably trying to forget them. But there’s a pretty clear pattern here.
