There is no Governor like Makinde in the entire South West. Or North West. Or North East or anywhere else. None. All the other governors are just like former AGF Malami, looting their states dry and acquiring properties for themselves and their children.

None meets or matches Makinde in leverage. None.

I wish him well in everything.

Gee Kay,

Politicians are all the same, they just come in different shades of grey like all other things.

How can you be issued a contract of $1million and you then make a profit of $1million therein. Even if it is an intellectual contract like consultancy, you must incur expenses.

Nigerians are quick to take assertions of people they like in hook, line and sinker without any rationality and logical analysis.

Yes the guy(Makinde) may be better than most governors and not too ostentatious as some stupid Wike aide wanted to judge his wealth because he(Makinde) was living in a 2-bedroom apartment after being worth over $1million. Typical Nigerian foolish sense. Elon Musk, the richest man sleeps in his office most of the time, you can hardly he's not worth he is worth because of that.

Naija sense sometimes is just wacky!

Femi Olajide

Femi,

Please name one Governor in the entire South West today, who can meet and match Makinde on any leverage including most especially, basic intellect.

Name one.

After that, I will ask you to name another one across the country. North, East, South ....anyone.

After that, I will ask you to name any from the past. We can go back by 50 years.

Or more.

Regards.

Femi,

It was people like Seyi Makinde that pushed many of us from the South South into the Tinubu Train at a time when there was a committed and well funded national movement dedicated to forcing Nigerians and our well wishers to believe that Tinubu was a drug dealer and Certificate forger.

All we needed to do was re-direct Nigerians to the various political battles Tinubu fought to win re-election in 2003, at a time when the Obasanjo political machine was about to turn fully against him.

So you believed that story enough to repeat it to me? That Seyi Makinde's company Makon Engineering got a contract for $1m and made profits of $1m? That you can share that kind of cantankerous information with me leaves me even more troubled.

Makinde served as an NYSC Electrical Engineer and tended towards Fluid Metering early enough, showed dedication and moved up faster in the trust and responsibility ladder.

The difference between Makinde and many others is the huge investments Makinde made on himself. For more than 5 years after graduation, Makinde committed savings and earning to acquire almost all of the highest certifications in his field. Money some of Port Harcourt boys would have used to buy cars.

In the end he got millions of dollars not just from procurement, but only from installation, and then maintenance.

Eventually, it was Makon's maintenance capability that made them stand out. Pls give Makinde his accolades.

He was the first Governor to publicly declare his assets with great clarity, dignity and integrity.

To appreciate Makinde, think about Malami, and the others like him.

Anyway, Merry Christmas from Port Harcourt ...

Gee Kay,

Here you go again about ambiguity.

How do you define basic intellect? And for comparison sake, what yardsticks are we using? e.g. quality of policies; quality of programs & projects; quantities of projects; Impact assessment score; value for money assessment grade etc etc

You define your yardstick and provide Makinde item of basic intellect that you want to use as the flagship, and I will search around the country to give you equivalent from each zone.

No governor is elected for basic intellect. They should be elected for the ability to device and deliver deliberate, useful and purposeful dividend of democracy that meets the people's aspiration within stated time frame at maximum value for reasonably minimal cost to the people.

I'm all ears, what you see coming out of my head are not car doors!

Gee Kay,

I will tell you that I don't know much about Makinde and my statement below is a quote from an interview he held and he hasn't refuted it till today. He was quoted as saying that Wike was still serving in NYSC, when he was already making $1million receiving contract from Mobil and making a profit of $1million.

With your post below, there is no doubt that he is a self developed and self made millionaire, however the veracity of his above statement quoted has not been shown by your post below, if he did not refute the above quote.

There is no contract of $1million in value that you can make profit of $1million from. Simple!
