Jesus – God’s Perfect Gift To Mankind

“And when they had come into the house, they saw the young Child with Mary His mother, and fell down and worshiped Him. And when they had opened their treasures, they presented gifts to Him: gold, frankincense, and myrrh.” Matthew 2:11 NKJV

 

No one in our generation can testify to the accuracy of the date of birth of our Lord, Jesus Christ. Jesus was likely not born on 25th December. And this is not disputable! But Christmas is not about the celebration of the “Day” Jesus was born; it has everything to do with the celebration of Jesus Christ - God’s Perfect Gift to mankind. The “Day”, 25^th December did not die for our sins, to save us from eternal condemnation and reconcile us to God. Jesus did. The “Day”, 25^th December did not manifest so that it might destroy the works of the devil. Jesus did (1 John 3:8). 25th December did not come into the world to seek and to save that which was lost (Luke 19:10). Jesus did. To celebrate the birth of the Messiah, a “Day” must be set aside in commemoration. And 25^th of December happens to be that fortunate Day!

 

God created man in His own image (Genesis 1:27) and put our pioneer ancestral parents, Adam and Eve in a place of perfect Peace and Treasure (The Garden of Eden) where He only had meetings and direct communications with them. But Adam and Eve disobeyed God and ipso facto lost their right to perfect Peace and Treasure, and in the process, were thrown out of that place of eternal tranquillity by their very Creator, Master and Friend – God.

 

The sin of Adam and Eve rubbed on all generations of mankind. It brought corruption, curse, condemnation and death to the hitherto perfectly and beautifully made creation in God’s own image – man and woman.

 

With sin, “the soul of man experienced a schism with God’s Spirit. The only solution to bridge this great divide and bring mankind back in relationship with God would require a work of atonement.”

 

Let me make it abundantly clear here that the work of atonement is not limited to the first sin that Adam and Eve committed, it also takes care of the sins that we ourselves have committed.

 

Our God is the God of Love (Αγάπη – Agape). His love for man is beyond human imagination and comprehension. To put it more succinctly, He has a ridiculous love for mankind! God knew that man will fall; therefore He made safeguards for their redemption even before the foundation of the world: 

 

“…but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot. He indeed was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you. (I Peter 1:18-20 NKJV).

 

Jesus is God’s perfect Gift  (Lamb) that was foreordained for the redemption of man even before the foundation of the world. At the fullness of time, He came into the earth that He made through birth process. He wrapped Himself in flesh and blood, and chose to be born of a woman like every human being, to fulfil that purpose:

 

But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons. And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying out, “Abba, Father!” Therefore you are no longer a slave but a son, and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ. (Galatians 4:4-7 NKJV).

 

Realising the gravity of the yoke of the burden of the law under which we were condemned because of sin, which Jesus’ ultimate sacrifice broke, no celebration to commemorate Him on the date of His birth is enough!

 

When the Apostle Paul wrote that God sent Jesus in order to redeem those under the law, he was talking about all generations of mankind – you, me, our ancestors and those yet to be born. We were lost in our sins and separated from God. We could not on our own restore ourselves to a relationship with Him, but God wanted us to be free to re-establish a relationship with Him. In order to remove the barrier that stood in-between our relationship with Him, God sent Jesus “that we might receive the adoption as [His] sons and daughters, if you like.

 

Jesus is the Perfect Gift of God to mankind!

 

The Bible records in Mathew 2:11 that, Jesus was presented with gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh on His birth by the three wise men, magi from the East. Because of this, Christmas as a festivity commemorating the birth of Christ has taken the traditional profile of a period when folks give and exchange gifts.

 

During Christmas season, post offices world-wide are awash with parcels and overwhelmed with extra work-load of sorting and sending out various sizes and kinds of these parcels, cards and letters containing gifts and good wishes that people send across to their friends, loved ones, colleagues and acquaintances in the giving-spirit of the festivity.

 

Also, the birth of Jesus was greeted with unspeakable joy. “When they saw the star [over the place where baby Jesus was lying], they rejoiced with exceedingly great joy” (Matthew 2:10).

 

In the same vein, the angel brought to the shepherds a message of joy. “Then the angel said to them, Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. For there is born to you this day in the city of David  a Saviour, who is Christ the Lord” (Luke 2:10-11 NKJV).

 

“Joy” therefore has become an integral part of Christmas. Churches, offices, theatre houses, pubs, streets, name it, are abuzz with all kinds of activities that make human beings feel good during the celebration of Christmas.

 

The irony and very unfortunate thing, is that only a few in the world understands the joy of Christmas and why it is celebrated in the first place. Many have simply lost its meaning and others do not even know why they celebrate it with such a gusto of unqualified joy.

 

This article is intended to remind readers of the precious and perfect Gift of God to mankind in the Person of Jesus Christ in whose honour we celebrate Christmas. God wanted us to be freed from sin and to live in harmony with Him with a peace of mind. For this reason, He sent Jesus “that we might receive the adoption as sons.”

 

As you celebrate Jesus - the wonderful Gift of God to you in this Christmas, rejoice that by His Gift, you have been adopted into His family through Jesus Christ.

 

Christmas is not about ordinary celebration. It is all about the celebration of the greatest Gift of God to you. Celebrate Jesus with joy in this Christmas!

The story makes absolutely no sense, for their visit was without a reason or purpose. The writer of Matthew was an idiot and a liar who wanted to portray Jesus in the superlatives. We know today, from astronomy, that people couldn't have traveled the distance discussed in this silly story by following one star. Which star was that visible, Mars, Venus, Mercury, Jupiter, Saturn, etc?

Pastor Ọkala, extort tithe from your flock for as much as your heart desires, and through it enjoy your Christmas. However, quit unleashing this type of ignorance outside of your church, it makes you seem unlettered.

As always, you remain the quintessential  Nebukadineze Adiele - the unrepentant Atheist and Antichrist of our time. Had you flown with my message about the celebration of Jesus, I would have been utterly surprised.

In 100 years from now, if Jesus tarries His coming, you would not believe what you would see about the very presence of Jesus on earth. Unfortunately neither you nor I will be physically on earth by then. Has it ever occurred to you that Jesus left the world with His glorified Body 2,021 years ago, yet the spread of the gospel continues unabated. So, how do you think that a movement that couldn't be stopped for over 2,000 years ago would be stopped in just 100 years? Only a deluded Antichrist will think so.

       The son of God is in God and in heaven but is sleeping and dreaming; his mind is your and my mind, dreaming, filled with ideas on how to adapt to the ego’s world.

      God as the Holy Spirit placed another mind inside your/my sleeping mind, the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit’s mind is not the mind of the son of God; although it is still in the dream of separation, it is aware of God’s unified reality hence gives us a better dream, one that gives us peace and joy, not the conflict and tension ridden ego mind.

     Your ego mind is not the Holy Spirit’s mind, so listen for it to speak to you but do not speak for it.

     The ego speaks first and without waiting for the Holy Spirit to speak, will jump in and speak on behalf of the Holy Spirit.

      One is to keep quiet and listen to the Holy Spirit, ask him how one is to live one’s day and not tell it what to tell one.

     What the Holy Spirit tells one to do may be different from what one’s ego wants to do. For example, my ego wants to teach political science and psychology, but the Holy Spirit wants me to reinterpret those subjects and use them to teach spiritual politics and spiritual psychology. That is, to put them to spiritual purposes, not join the ego politics and ego psychology of unloving egoistic scholars (they perpetuate the egos world of conflict instead of showing a way to reduce and or eliminate that conflict).

      The Holy Spirit’s voice is calm, dignified, and authoritative; the ego’s voice is frantic and full of fears and uncertainty.

 

MY MIND, AN ANCIENT AND WISE MIND, PRETENDS TO BE IMMATURE AND DEMANDS TO BE LOVED BY OTHER MINDS WHILE AVOIDING LOVING ME AND PEOPLE

 

      I used my mind, the mind of an ancient and wise soul, to make me think like an immature child to avoid loving me and loving people and especially loving women.

    The women around me ask me to love and protect them but I keep looking at them with the ego mind; the ego mind cannot love but wants to be loved, hence I do not love the women around me and they feel all alone in the universe.

       Deep down, my ancient and wise soul understands that  the sons of God are love and must be loved for them to be happy, regardless of their bodies and what they do with their bodies, such as sex, that repulse me; they must be loved in an unconditionally positive manner for them to be happy; judge people as bad or even good and you have offended their souls and they will not be happy; they are love and want to be loved as they are, not as your ego wants them to be; I undertook to play the ego loveless role in the first part of my stay on earth. I did so to learn that we are love and that we must always love.

       I must say that this whole dance is meant to be so hence is existential; I was primed not to love me and other people; my inherited problematic body, my father’s own problematic body and his inability to love his self, other people and particularly his wife and children, all added up for me to chase the grandiose ego and not love me and people.

     It is now time to stop listening to the left ego mind and, instead, listen to the right, Holy Spirit mind in us.

     The ego mind cannot love for it approaches people from reason; the ego is the opposite of love; love is union, whereas the ego is separation from union.

     Love transcends reason; love is its own means and end and has no justification for it; there is no reason to love; love has no condition for loving.

      The ego game of avoiding love through immaturity is now over in me.

 

THE MAGIC OF THE UNIVERSE IS REFLECTED IN LIGHT

 

     Light travels at 186, 282 miles per second in vacuum. That great speed is slowed down so that light is used to form particles of electrons, quarks, protons and neutrons and elements and molecules and our bodies and stationary objects like the table and computer hardware I am typing into.

      Who slowed down the speed of light to use light to form our bodies and objects in the universe? Our minds did.

     My mind used light to form my visions of Jesus Christ in light forms and to form dreams at night. Mind slows down light to energy and matter and use them to do work (use light to invent our physical universe).

      The figures of people and things on the Television are slowed down light, photons; everything is slowed down light.

      Mind did all these things, so mind is immensely powerful, do not underrate your mind or other people’s minds.

      The sleeping and dreaming mind of the son of God invented our ego minds and the physical universe, so it is immensely powerful in its dream world and more powerful when awake when it creates permanent things.

 

CHRISTMAS IS THE BIRTH OF LOVE IN THE LOVELESS WORLD OF SEPARATED PEOPLE AND THINGS

 

      Jesus Christ represents love for God and all people. His birth, therefore, means the birth of love in our separated, unloving world.

     It does not matter whether he was born in the spring, April, when the shepherds were out in the fields with their sheep, or was born in the winter, December 25, 4 BC or 1 AD or CE.

     What matters is what he symbolizes, love for God and for all God’s children on earth, in the dream of separation.

     One should leave pedants to argue about when Jesus was born and, instead, concentrate on understanding that he symbolizes love and devote one’s life to loving God and all people and in doing so know peace and joy.

I appreciate the importance of your message, except that you misunderstood my intention. I wasn’t devaluing Christianity whatsoever, and wouldn’t devalue anyone’s religious belief, I was merely correcting an error of the intellect. If you were conversant with revolutionaries, you would know that we take no day off (except during grief) to correcting errors. 

Chukwuemeka Ọlala posted on public forums a claim that is founded on superstition and fueled by ignorance, so I offered a correction. Remember, when the article was restricted to his church’s domain, I offered no opinion—doing so would have amounted to seeking out his beliefs and devaluing them. 

I ended the piece by wishing him and his family happy holidays, is that what one who loathes others’ faith does? Of course not, you should know me better than that by now. 

In any case, your point is noted in case anyone else misunderstood me as you did. By the way, pastor Ọkala responded to me; his tone indicated that he understood that I was disputing the authenticity of his message, not attacking his right to so believe. Ọkala believes the bible literally, that’s anti intellectual because no enlightened person, not even the Pope, still does so in the 21st century—that’s what informed my prediction that his brand of Christianity would be a source of embarrassment a hundred years from now.

If you please show proof to this forum to justify your claim that Jesus' birth was 'founded on superstition and fuelled by ignorance'? You denied demeaning Christianity, yet, at the same time you allege that the centrepiece and epicentre of its foundation is rooted in superstition. 

How else would you put it before you can see your onslaught on Christianity that aim to devalue the movement? Are you okay?

All the items that I have sent to you over the years, in backing up my position, have been published works with International Standard Book Number (ISBN) or researched articles. Majority of the authors of these books and articles are university professors, historians, scientists, some professors of Religion, former born-again pastors who have realized the foolishness of Christianity, etc. If you still lived up to your education, you would know to not dismiss those books/articles with the wave of the hand -- you would have countered them through a book or published articles.  

First of all, there is nothing in Isaiah 53 that would lead anyone, except delusional Christians, into concluding that the chapter is talking about Jesus Christ. The poem was written 800 years before Jesus was allegedly born; it was written for Jews and in their Torah, which Christians criminally and shamelessly plagiarized and misinterpreted opportunistically -- something that irks Jews. Judaism's Pentateuch has nothing to do with Christians except that Christians criminally took it, corrupted it with wrong interpretations, and shamelessly adapt their thoughtless religion through those books. In order words, whatever Christians claim from the Pentateuch is false because it was not written for them -- they belong to Judaism. 

Jews have interpreted Isaiah 53 as a personification of Israel's travails, some Jewish scholars dispute that and state that the poem likely talked about Zedekiah, the last king of Judah whose sufferings and humiliations in trying to save Judah mirrored the poem's theme. What all Jews and secular scholars agree on is that the poem is not about Jesus, period. You, Chukwuemeka Ọkala, indirectly agreed that it is not about Jesus except that you hinged your dishonest claim on your inability to think of anyone else whose life matched the poem? How arrogant and criminal of you Christians to make such claim? How does Ojukwu Diobu's (of your Ikwere) life not mirror Isaiah 53? How about Ahia Njọku, Ụmụmiri Ọnicha, Alukwu Enyiogwugwu, Amadi Ọha Ọzụzụ, etc, should their worshippers also lay claim to Isaiah 53, since their lives mirrored the poem? I don’t think you can easily win him in this line of argument because it’s you ( not him ) that suppose to prove that Jesus birth isn’t statistical outlier.

An expert in demography once wrote that over 100billion people have ever died in history, if we agree that the first homo sapien emerged about 50,000 years ago  ( not 6000 - 7000 years based on the scripture ) . 

Bearing in mind the above, if from 108billion people that have ever been created ( 100billion have died and 8billion are still  living  ) and there is only one man some claim to have been born of virgin birth, I think it’s an impossible probability which needs a lot of explanation and investigation . 

Am sure you are well aware of the fact that there is an increasing  number of clerics who don’t believe in the accuracy of the scriptures.  About 4 decades ago in the UK, there was one Bishop of Durham, Prof David Jenkins who openly doubted the virgin birth story and other miracles in the Bible . In spite of his open attack on the Bible he wasn’t removed from the seat which is number two in importance to the Archbishop of Canterbury.

There are major differences between Christianity, Judaism and Islam.

If you don’t know it then you need to read all holy books on them.

First off, Christians don’t consider themselves as “servants” of God, they are children of God, and Jesus to them is the son.

Qur’an does not accept Jesus as the son of Allah, so  there lies the biggest differences that rock the world.

Another thing, you all don’t worship your gods the same way.

Christians are allowed to worship Jesus in ANY language, while Muslims can only worship Allah in the Arabic language. 

You worship Allah five times daily, unfailingly at specific hours of the day by facing the East, you can’t face West or South, whereas Christians can sit anywhere, face anywhere and there is Jesus.

I could explain it but I seriously doubt if you could understand it.

It is not about needing to prove ‘immaculate conceotiin’ because nobody has ever been born that way.

It is not even about showing that an immaculate conception, i.e., development of an egg for reproduction, is possible because it is.

I mean, how could a power that brought about the Universe itself, with the wondrous stars, supernovae, neutron stars, Quasars, Black Holes, etc., etc., etc. not be able to make happen in humans just once that which already happens in plants every year and every year for billions of years?

It comes down to one intelligence, education, power to imagine and…power to believe!

Quantum Physics actually will get your mind quicker to believing in God than illiteracy or poor education.

He confused pathogenesis with parthenocarpy, even at that, the former never produces human beings, it produces tumors, while the later produces fruits that have no seeds -- in order words, its product cannot be equated to a production of a human being (without fertilization) by any rational or educated person. In claiming that God created the universe with all of its mightiness and mysteries, he insults that same God by saying he made the creations arbitrarily, without any planning or scientific underlining. If that wasn't what he believes, he wouldn't have thought and expressed that God could have undermined the science behind his creation by violating the science of a female's egg's fertilization by a male's sperm to bringing forth Jesus. As Imperial Wizard pointed out, of 108 billion people who have been on earth, there is no scientific odd of Jesus being the only person born without a male having slept with his mother, especially when the only evidence upon which this extraordinary claim stands is the delusional misinterpretation of poems found in Jewish literature by delusional Christians. These points are clear evidence that Steven Kueberuwa is not a scientist and likely hasn't studied science outside of junior high school. 

If the above weren't atrocious enough, Kueberuwa further lied shamelessly like an anti science Early Man. He lied that Einstein believed in God (he didn't); he lied that leading scientists believe that God caused the Big Bang (99.9% of leading scientists believe the contrary); he lied that "Quantum Physics actually will get your mind quicker to believing in God than illiteracy or poor education" (the reverse is the case -- illiteracy and poor education perpetuate belief in God in the manner and degree believed by Ọkala, Kueberuwa, and Al Qaeda). In summary, Kueberuwa, like Ọkala, offered no evidence as to Immaculate conception or the existence of God, all he invoked is fear of the unknown and his brain's  conditioning by the Catholic priests who, as IBK alleges, raped him as an altar boy. 

Steven Kueberuwa is a disgrace to thought, scholarship, decency, and truth. He is anti science and it is disgracefully that he is this pathetic at 80 years of age when he should be a bag of wisdom. Tufiakwa!

Unlike the Quran, the New Testament only reports things that are only directly relevant to the Kerygma, i.e., the Crucifixion and Salvation of Mankind on Calvary - the core message of Christianity.

There are other documentation that report the extant life of the Gospel personalities, such as Mary and her husband Joseph or even Mary Magdalene, Mary’s cousin.

The other historical events can be found by people with the proper education from writings from people of the era, such as Roman historians like Plutarch and Josephus.

If you want to be a Christian, go to the nearest Catholic church or any of the established churches. Their parish priests own very little and the Catholic ones own nothing (supposed to own nothing unless they are Nigerians!).

As for Jesus' siblings, I know no more than you do because, as Christan, my interest does not go beyond Jesus Christ, my Lord. and His Mother Mary.

 Engr Jerome Niang, come to think of it, the only tribe I never mingled with or dated their girls was the Fulani.

I think it was because the Fulani people at that time when we were growing up never attended school, they were practically, and all stack illiterates. 

My man Jerome, no one in his right mind in Lagos as a youngster would date a Fulani girl at that time, they can’t dance to disco music, their perfume known as “lofinda” smells like those horrible perfumes sold on American streets in the ‘hoods by the African American-asalamalaikun-guys that worship Farrakhan.

One time we were in Ilorin for some invitational relay, and I remembered vividly a Fulani girl among some dormitory students that one friend wanted one of us to date.

We weren’t interested and were passing the offer around us like stale bread passed around a dinner table, but no takers.

Yep, she was pretty but na swegbe.

It was obvious that the inter-house sport was her first ever outing, then there’s the horrible smell of the “lofinda”. 

It was an odor you couldn’t forget.

You feel as if hugging her would transfer the “lofinda” smell onto you forever.

and has no feasible connection or relationship to the principles of Science

You can not boldly argue that we (the generality of mankind that has ever lived on

planet earth and those are still here today, accept the 'soul' as a durable matter that is measurable

in process was recently captured in a collage of photographs by radio-astronomers located throughout 

the globe. Unlike the idea of black holes as possible gates to another universe or multiverses, the human soul

remains a mythological religious construct that only the religious among humanity accept as reality.

Our Lord Jesus Christ refused to venture into the same quagmire when he

said:

"Give unto Caesar what is Caesar's and unto God what is God's."

I think we are on safer grounds when we avoid the mistake and the temptation

to mix apples and oranges.

However, the current consensus in the quantum world is that - consistent with the Law of Conservation of Mass, Information cannot be created nor destroyed even at the Event Horizon of a Black Hole. That means, any matter that is crushed and reduced to plasma indistinguishability and lost its information at the entry of the Black Hole at the Event Horizon will reappear at the other end of the Black Hole - called a White Hole, in an Alternate Universe, as the Information that entered the Black Hole!

  LIFE, LIGHT AND LOVE

 

I am life, light and love; I am one with life, light and love.

     Life is one continuous thing; it has infinite units; however, the units are not apart from life itself. The units of life can be compared to the units of light.

     Light is a wave within which are units called photons; wave and photons are one. Similarly, life and its units, you and I, are one continuous line.

    Love can be analogically seen as the glue that holds all the units of life in connection with each other. Where one unit of life ends, and another begins is nowhere; they are all one life. There is no space, gap and time in life.

      Life thus is also called spiritual light and love. All three names are the same thing. Life is the union of all things as one thing.

 

      I am always love; I always love me and love all sons of God and love God.

      If I am always love, how come I do not feel loved or loving towards other people? The answer is amazingly simple.

     We are love but place blocks to the awareness of the love that we are. We cast a veil over love and do not see it or experience it.

     We must remove those blocks, veil to experience the awareness of love, light and life that we are.

     The block is the ego separated self.

     Love is unified spirit self. We wished for separated ego self. We cannot separate from life, light and love because they are one continuous line with no breaks in them, but we can close our spiritual eyes and pretend that they have breaks, that there is a gap and space between people, between particles of light and light.

     There cannot be a break in light, love and life, but we can pretend that there is one. Our lives on earth are pretense that there are breaks in love, light and life and that each of us is now separated from other selves.

     The ego and body, space and time are imaginary breaks to the awareness of loves continuous nature, and life and light’s continuous state.

      Ego space and time are fantasy, not real; they are imaginary, dream states whereby we take what is eternally joined and connected and imagine that they are separated into bits, fragments and parts, each separated from others and can relate to them when it feels so or not relate to them.

     Even at the physical level our bodies are parts of light from the sun and all stars and are not separated from them; the food we eat, and our physical environment and bodies are all joined and cannot separate from each other.

     At the spiritual level, all things are joined in one continuous line, or in one circle that has no beginning and no end.

     Ego, space, time, matter, and hatred, fear and guilt are all means of making separated selves seem possible, but they are not possible.

   I always love me and all people but imagine that I do not love them. All I need to do is stop wishing for an ego separated self and emphasizing my ego and I sink into the awareness that I love all people and they love me.

      Love is all there is, so I do not have to do anything to experience love; all I need to do is remove what I did to prevent my awareness of love: remove my ego and identification with body.

 

SEPARATION, SIN, GUILT, FEAR OF PUNISHMENT BY GOD AND SELF PUNISHMENT TO APPEASE GOD

 

     When I see me as separated from other selves and from the whole self-called God, I feel like I did something wrong and feel guilt. Feeling guilty and sinful I feel like those I separated from, God and other people, are angry at me and would attack and punish me.

      I push that guilt and fear into my ego unconscious mind. From the unconscious mind they affect me. I feel evil, worthy of punishment, and punish me.

      I punish me with pain, suffering and poverty. But if I accept that I am joined to all people and God then I do not feel guilty and sinful and, as such, do not expect to be punished by God and people. I feel one with them nd love them and they love me, and I live in peace and joy; I live in both material and spiritual abundance.

     A course in miracles, a spiritual poem, written in Shakespearian blank verse, iambic pentameter, put what I said in prose in lovely language; in the introduction to the 1300 pages book, it says this about love:

“1. This is a course in miracles. ²It is a required course. ³Only the time you take it is voluntary. ⁴Free will does not mean that you can establish the curriculum. ⁵It means only that you can elect what you want to take at a given time. ⁶The course does not aim at teaching the meaning of love, for that is beyond what can be taught. ⁷It does aim, however, at removing the blocks to the awareness of love’s presence, which is your natural inheritance. ⁸The opposite of love is fear, but what is all-encompassing can have no opposite.

2. This course can therefore be summed up very simply in this way:

²Nothing real can be threatened.
³Nothing unreal exists.

⁴Herein lies the peace of God.”

I have read both of your rejoinders to my post not once but twice.

You went much further on a limb across a high cliff than any of the learned men you quoted from in your initial post.

Most of the statements concerning the issues of the human soul transforming into some kind quantum particles at the moment of death — were preceded by multiple Ifs -as in if this is possible then this or that may be a possible theoretical scenario.

Their musings of the Scientists you quoted from have no  more validity than to assert that even after all of mankind’s manned and unmanned explorations to the Moon and other planets and moons in the Solar System, that there

were  Martians on Mars, Mariners and other aliens encountered but we could not see or interact with because they obey other laws of physics that are different from the laws that govern the known universe as we perceive them to be.

None of these learned folks referenced in your rejoinders declared straightforwardly as you did that at the moment of death ‘the soul’ transforms into some quantum particles or fragments of such particles that are only accessible to those on the other side of the curtain.

All of the talk about the human soul and quantum particles are nothing but conjectures. None of the folks you quoted would dare publish with their names or be allowed to publish in peer reviewed journals any of the hearsay opinions on this matter that have been ascribed to them.

I believe, even though I may be mistaken that you or another contributor abourlt one or two decades ago once had a byline that read — in a paraphrased form as follows :

“the wise man proportions his pronouncements to the depth of his knowledge on any given issue.”

I believed then and still do now that the quote is an excellent injunction to all kids and adults alike.

Let us thread gently when we attempt to cross the line between scientific principles and religious beliefs that are governed by faith and resides in the arena of Mythology.

I am glad that the scientist in you did not allow him to get away with his display of poverty of scientific knowledge, Christian criminality of perverting anything to making sense of its fabricated religion, and his shamelessness in purposely or ignorantly not making any scientific sense. You correctly reminded him that the soul is an abstract construct that is not a matter and has no mass, so how could an educated person in science drag it into the conservation of matter (or mass as he prefers to describe it) principle? How did he establish a relationship between this universe and his "Alternate Universe", such that what makes sense here would also make sense there? Did he define this "Alternate Universe"? If he said this before an audience of ignoramuses (of science, that is), they would applaud him and marvel at his brilliance and then shout hallelujah. If you believe whatever you were communicating in that roundabout, your first duty would be proving the existence of soul, which you admitted as having no mass  -- you should have also admitted that it is not matter either. You must demonstrate how an iPhone could go through the black hole as iPhone (matter) but "must emerge with its Information as iPhone, instead of just its chemical and physical elements". The argument I presented is not about the soul obeying the Laws of Newtonian Physics’ Conservation

He strings up a bunch of Googling together, but if you took time to read thru it, you found the essay very disjointed, as if the writer was carrying a cheat-sheet into an exam room.
Stevek writes like one classmate of mine who copied A.O. Lawal’s Econs into his exams paper, but he copied all the graphs word for word including “see figure 8”.

That was how he was caught because there wasn’t any “figure 8” in his answer sheet!

You know for the longest time, Joseph Igietseme - not my favorite kind of person, has insisted that SteveK was not a scientist. 

Like him or loath him,  you must agree with me that Joseph Igietseme is a real scientist with oodles of years of experience. At the time I didn’t really pay much attention to Joseph’s statement because I, erroneously, thought he was belittling SteveK.

Hindsight being 20-20 I now understand Joseph. SteveK was a janitor in a lab. He overheard some jargons and thought himself a scientist. 

One cardinal, foundational skill of scientist is observation and the ability to report exactly what you observed. SteveK lacks that skill. 

It is like a lawyer with comprehension problem.

If I remember correctly from my days in high school or so, matter is defined as anything that occupies space and has mass. That is, something physical or can be felt /measured. How then is a spirit a matter, if it does not occupy space and there is nothing physical about it?

Even though Dark Matter and Dark Energy  occupy billions of times more space in the known 

universe than what we can perceive through our naked eyes, and infra red and radio telescopes 

the best of scientific minds we have today in the fields of Physics, Cosmology Astrophysics, Astronomy and 

many other related disciplines are still struggling to define what they are.

How can we then suddenly jump and start taking seriously musings and conjectures from some scientists

suggesting that souls would disappear at death and descend through a black hole into 

a warm whole and hence forth into another universe to begin life all over again?

Does every word uttered by a renowned scientist qualify as a Theory? Shouldn't and idea first go through several

phases including being accepted a a hypothesis before being accepted as Theory?

This the reason we must avoid mixing our religious beliefs with empirical science. They belong in different realms

that are mutually in explicable to each other and are governed by different principles.

Knowledge in these areas of human existence are fraught with difficulties and ambiguities. The more careful and circumspect we

are at latching on to and accepting novel ideas we come across the better it is for mankind both now and the future.

What is the nature of a soul?

 

Do all submicroscopic, microscopic and macroscopic living things inclusive of mankind, domesticated and wild animals

in the jungles and plants also have souls?

If not why is this attribute --Soul---so unique to the Homo sapiens to the extent that it must be preserved through passing through a black hole

after death into another universe?

The answer is a simple one to answer when in the realm of Religion but unlikely to be available to us in the realm of Science

even if we live 10 lifetimes.

So, the Newtonian Physics (macro Physics, the Physics we see or whose effects we see) Law of Conservation of Mass applies to such matter.

That means you cannot destroy them or deny them of their place in or erase them from space.

Then Einstein’s Special Relativity of a new branch of Physics called Quantum Physics (Physics of very small things, like photons and electron and their behavior when accelerated close to the speed of light, 186,000 miles/second).

Then came the discovery of Neutron Stars and Black Holes which are supper dense planet and star-like in size, usually formed from dead stars that are collapsed upon themselves.

A coin size of such neutron stars or black holes weigh as much the total weight of the Earth!

Because if their supermassive size, such objects have such immense gravitational pull around them that they pull everything to themselves and crush them, breaking down their normal atomic configuration of protons and electrons or even neutrons to just a goo of plasma.

And the black holes as to gravitationally strong that not  even the lightest matter in the Universe, photons that make up light, can escape from their surface!

That’s why they appear black to us.

So, everything that is captured is lost to the universe.

That what brought astrophysicists to the discussion of what happens to the place of mass must be conserved.

They agreed that the mass is not lost because it has been converted into energy.

If you have followed this up to now, then you have a better understanding of Quantum Physics than everybody that has been involved in this discussion.

But now comes the hardest part.

Some scientist then asked a question like this, ‘What if a cell phone is swallowed by the black hole and all we get back order to satisfy the Law of Conservation of Mass is just energy? What about the form of the cell firm that is lost?”

They asked the question since Information is part of the physical universe in order for the universe to be made of things, like planets, stars, nebulae, cell phones, you and me, instead of just plasma energy.

After much argumentation and writing of equations over the years, they concluded the the form of the phone is Information in the Universe and it, too, cannot be lost.

Then they came up with the Law of Conservation of Information or No-Hiding Theorem which holds that, like Mass, Information (form) cannot be destroyed of lost when matter gets converted to plasma by the black hole in its Event Horizon where this transformation, E=mC2, occurs.

Now come the soul.

Religion has it that a human body has a soul; the soul being considered as Information of a particular body with mass. 

So, work at the Max Planck Institute in Germany where most of the Big Bang and other astrophysics studies occur, found that there done element if the human brain that acts as the Information of the brain of body (scroll down and see what they claimed).

They concluded that the soul, being Information in the universe is also subject to the Quantum Physics Law of the Conservation of Information.

 If so, death if the body doesn’t mean death if the soul. 

And that raises a big problem for those who would let others believe that the Epicurians who said, “Live, drink and be merry for tomorrow, we shall die” were right.

I think you're missing the point of our disagreement

on this issue. My disagreement with you on this matter

is not due to a lack of the required basic knowledge assessable

to a lay person

nor does it require that you teach Einstein's Theory of Relativity,

Quantum Physics and Eschatological Theology to me or the rest

of the general lay public.

I have this idea about knowledge: 

Any knowledge that is considered

useful to mankind from any source and that can not be explained

in simple language that the lay public could understand is either not yet

ready for consumption by or imposition on mankind 

or is badly in need of better messengers.

You should not need to invoke the arcane principles of Quantum Physics

in order to explain why you believe that there is sufficient weight

of current knowledge that supports the idea that the human soul at death

passes through a black hole to reappear in a warm hole as a link

to another universe.

My own stand is that such an idea remains speculative at this stage of human

knowledge.

The Law of Conservation of Mass in Physics, holds that "Matter can change form through physical and chemical changes, but through any of these changes, matter is conserved. The same amount of matter exists before and after the change—none is created or destroyed.

Simply stated, this law means that, once a thing - such as a leaf or a rock exists, its place in the Universe cannot be erased.

Its form can only be changed by changing its form - grinding into dust, made into solution, or even converted into energy by Einstein's matter/Energy conversion equation, but never its place erased!
 

The Law of Conservation of Mass was due for review at the advent of Quantum Mechanics, especially, as concerns the fate of the information of matter at the Event Horizon of Black Holes where matter is converted into plasma indistinguishability by awesome gravitation forces, devoid of identifying physical and chemical properties, 

Einstein, Hawkins, and others have argued that, if all matter that entered into a Black Hole lost all its properties (Information) at the Event Horizon, then it violates the Newtonian Law of Conservation of Matter since that information would be lost to the Universe.

However, the current consensus in the quantum world is that - consistent with the Law of Conservation of Mass, Information cannot be created nor destroyed even at the Event Horizon of a Black Hole. This concept stems from two fundamental theorems of quantum mechanics: the no-cloning theorem and the no-deleting theorem.

That means, any matter that is crushed and reduced to plasma indistinguishability and lost its information at the entry of the Black Hole at the Event Horizon will reappear at the other end of the Black Hole - called a White Hole, in an Alternate Universe, as the Information that entered the Black Hole!

So, what about the Soul? Shouldn't there be a Law of the Conservation of the Soul at its own Event Horizon, i.e., cataclysmic exit out of the world called death? At least, all will agree that the moment of each person's death is cataclysmic.

In reality, it is the same law as far as bona fide scientists (like Olola Kassim) are concerned. For his refusal to buy into your lunacy, you are now insulting him but would claim insulted if he returned the favor. 

Steven Kueberuwa, why are you such an illiterate as to be posting the excerpt whose author (it sounds like a journalist's work) you didn't cite? There's nothing in that excerpt that doesn't fall under myth as Olola said but you are, out of ignorance or mischief, trying to fool the gullible that it is a scientific work, just because Max Planck Society is mentioned while uttering it. Even at that, its head mentioned in the excerpt restricted his supposition to the physicality but you have criminally construed it into the realm of spirituality (soul). Unless you are quoting the scientist out of context, every idiocy you think he uttered there is not science, it is his speculation, which was influenced by anything but science. So far, he hasn't proved what you are citing, which means it is not science, so why are you citing it? Frankly, you are semi-literate -- you can't write properly, you can't read properly, you don't comprehend properly, and you don't excerpt properly; you are a disgrace to whatever schools produced you.

COULD WHOEVER CREATED PEOPLE HAVE NOT PLACED THEM IN BODIES?

      One of the reasons why I rejected the idea that God created us is the human body. During the Nigerian civil war (1967-1970), I was at secondary school. When the Nigerians entered Owerri and eventually the Biafrans drove them out, my father and I entered Owerri. We saw dead human bodies littering the streets. There were dead bodies decaying everywhere and we had to cover our noses to be able to walk by them.

    Have you ever seen dead and decaying human bodies? The smell is awful. That episode of seeing decaying bodies, among others, led me to doubt that a loving God would create people and place them in human bodies.

     In fact, I concluded that only an evil God, what Gnostics call Demiurge, or Lucifer, would create people and place them in bodies that would die and smell worse than feces.

      Since my mind could not accept the idea that there is no God, I settled for not knowing whether there is God or not. I am agnostic.

      I envy theists who despite the absurdity of existence accept God on faith; I am not as unintelligent as atheists to believe that there is no God.

     I understand physics and chemistry and appreciate the intricate processes that underpin evolution, from the big bang to the present and do not see how it could all have been due to accidents.

     If you understand the precise calibration of activities in the atom, elements, and molecules you simply cannot believe that they are the products of accident and chance events, you will simply marvel and wonder what genius composed the atom (electrons, protons, neutrons, quarks all doing what they are supposed to do and doing it precisely, no mistake allowed).

      Talking about the human body, you do not have to be a biologist to appreciate what an intricate machine it is. Animals’ bodies are the most impressive machine designed by whoever designed them but then again you observe that the complex machine is going to die and decay to the sixty-four elements that compose it.

     The human body is composed of carbon, hydrogen, oxygen, nitrogen, calcium, iron, sodium, zinc, copper, phosphor, magnesium, potassium and other elements. Those elements eventually decay to electrons, protons and neutrons and those decay to photons- light.

      The universe began, 13.8 billion years ago, in hot light and will end in cold light (Big Chill, cold radiation).

       The point is this, if God created the human body and the universe, why did he bother constructing an excellent universe and human body only to have them die.

      It seems to me that only an insane genius would bother creating the universe and our bodies and in a fi t of rage destroy them.

       Okay, I do not know if there is God or not. But I do know something for sure, though. I do know that there is intelligence everywhere. There is intelligence in our bodies and outside our bodies. In fact, the entire universe can be considered an intelligence system.

      There is consciousness in the universe. Rene Descartes said, Cogito ergo sum, I think, therefore, I am; he is conscious of his existence but doubts everything else.

     I have had enough baffling so-called mystical experiences, including out of body experience, teleportation, visitations to the world of light forms, to not accept that there is consciousness in this universe, but that has not explained the conundrum of creating a universe and body destined to die.

      Stephen Hawkins asked: why did God bother creating this universe that would die? My German philosophical mentor, Arthur Schopenhauer said that whoever created this world and people must have made a mistake.

       Just see white Americans behaving like fools. As we talk, Republican, whites, controlled states, are busy passing laws to disenfranchise black folks. If they are even a little bit intelligent, would they not know that if black folks are prevented from voting that in short order, the American polity is going to go up in flames and burn to ashes. But, like brain dead folks, they seem to only know how to do what gives them pain not pleasure.

      If white America were rational folks they would do what they do in Scandinavia, adopt social democracy, make sure that all folks vote and give all folks publicly paid education at all levels and publicly paid health care and then allow the capitalist system to do what it does best, incentivize people to provide new goods and services in an effort to make a little profit.  

      American white men got to be the dumbest human beings on planet earth; they are always doing the wrong things, including fighting a civil war, not for a noble goal of bettering all people but to enslave black folks (they are not ashamed of slavery).

     Schopenhauer observed white Americans calling themselves Christians, instead of loving people, as Jesus Christ asked his followers to do, they wanted to enslave some people and he decided that they are a mistake, a blight on the human scene and ought to not exist! They are a plague, a pestilence on humankind.

       I see people as marvelous machines but also as pointless machines. This is the existentialist philosopher’s stance; he sees an interesting universe but a pointless one.

     It is still good to study the universe and people and try to understand them. Science is fascinating and could keep people going even if there is no meaning and purpose to their lives.

      So, this evening (December 30) my mind got to asking: could God or whatever created us have done it differently? He obviously made us wicked to each other; human beings are by nature very evil, could there be logic in creating evil people?

    Could he have done a different job? Helen Schucman, a very perceptive psychologist, wrote in her A course in miracles that only if God is evil would he have created this pointless world. She said that God is good and therefore could not have created an evil world. So, who created an evil world?

      She did not want to blame God. Instead, she said that the son of God created this pointless universe, and she took out her anger, rage and frustration on the son of God, on us.

       The son of God made a mistake in creating this universe. God corrected his mistake via the Holy Spirit by asking us to forgive, overlook the pointless universe we made and love the dreamers, the sons of God. Thus, she blamed us and at the same time forgave us and want us to love our real selves but hate what our false ego selves do.

      Cleaver thinking there, Dr Schucman, you did not have that IQ of 160 for nothing! You put your intellect to cleaver use, but by half.

      Professor Schucman did not answer the question of why even bother creating the universe that exists to die, why not leave well alone, let people be spirits that did not live in bodies?

      As I look at the human body and the physical universe, I cannot accept that they were produced by randomness, accidence and chance, but at the same time I cannot accept that a rational God creating it, be it the transcendental God the father or the immanent God the son, us. To me, the universe ought to not exist, period. Just thinking about what we do with our bodies, eating, pooping, having sex makes me not want to live in body.

     I see people praying to and thanking God for the good he did for them. Pray and thank God for creating you to die, for your body to be a food processing machine and when the machine ages it breaks down and you die! Such God ought to be cursed not praised. I do not pray to God; I try to understand God, as Gnostics do.

     Now, suppose that God or the son of God created us, could he have created us differently? Our bodies are made of matter. Matter could have been used in a non-biological form but differently to create us.

     Soon, human beings will use the various elements to invent robots that look like people and think and behave like people; the robots will live for a certain number of years, as cars do, and break down and are replaced; in the future, we may even create self-replicating robots. No one knows how far Artificial Intelligence, AI, will take us.

      If we create robots that act like human beings, would we bother creating children-robots? Given the trouble that children give their parents, I doubt that we would create them; we would create adult robots and leave it at that.

       But that would take away the joy we all had growing up. Just thinking of going with my father all over Lagos, to Bar Beach, Ikoyi Park etc. makes me feel happy; I am sure that father felt happy from taking us around town. There is something to be said about childhood and raising children.

      My question is this, was it ingenious for God to create us and place us in bodies, especially if he knows that though our bodies would die that we really do not die but live eternally with him in his heaven? I do not know the answer to my question, but there is something to be said for wetware.

     We are bodies into which someone place a software, a program, intelligence in and use our bodies to do work.

      If death is not our end, may be God did not make a mistake in creating us, as I had always believed that he did.

      What do you think?

      Please do not ask me to go read the bible. I have done that; I have had most experiences that Hindu so-called God realized persons had and still am not convinced that God exist.

      Hindu so-called God realized persons were jokers; if they were Godly hence loving persons, would they have allowed the caste system to exist in India? Those guys amuse me. So, let us talk philosophy and science and not the irrationalities of religious folks.

     Could whoever created us have done so in other forms but chose to do so in biological forms because he knows that although we would die that death is not real?

     What are your thoughts on this subject?

     Finally, there is always a positive in all human events; at wars people are killed; my study of history shows me that the world’s greatest philosophers, such as Plato, Aristotle, Descartes, Leibnitz, Kant, Hegel, Schopenhauer, Nietzsche, Hume, Berkely, Hobbes, Horace, Virgil, Seneca, Marcus Aurelius, Zeno, Buddha, Lao Tzu, Shanakara, Osuji, Sartre, Camus, Jasper, Heidegger, Kierkegaard etc. did their thinking after witnessing the barbarism of violence. Wars make us think about who we are. The only good I see in war is that it stimulates us to think and not live like religious persons who seem not given to thinking. The only good that I derived from the Nigerian civil war is that it exposed me to death and dying hence gave me a proper perspective on the human body. You can place the most expensive jewels on your body, I know that your body is still food for worms, so I am not impressed by it. What impresses me is your mind, your thoughts, not your body that is food being cooked for worms.

     Please do not use mental health categories to obfuscate philosophical thinking. I can see a poorly trained, childish psychologist saying that I am depressed. I am as good a mental health professional as you can see in this world.

    Americans, barbarians over psychologized their lives and stopped thinking philosophically. Seeing things as they are is not been depressed but being realistic. It is you who says that your dead mother, now eaten by warms, has gone to glory, who is in denial and living in fantasy land, and is deluded; you need to be healed of your infantilism and brought to adult realistic thinking.

I think your assumption about Dr Osuji's culinary preferences is wrong.

Dr Osuji is one of us--a Lagosian. He was born and raised in Surulere,

Lagos and attended one of those expensive private primary schools

for the privileged kids in those days.

He would never have had any liking for human meat--which I have

been told is lousy--hard to cook and no matter the spices used

in the cooking would still taste awful.

Cannibalism is a last ditch effort to stay alive by those in dire straits

e.g. being stranded on a remote island in a far far far and way place

with no food or fresh water to drink.

If I suspend belief that your name is OKQuincy, there is no way I can believe that your name is Olola; I can only pretend to have done both. And that’s not belief. You either believe it you don’t.

Belief is not volitional, such that the human brain has the power to switch in and off.

Belief in empirical facts and matters of faith belong to different parts of the brain; one is based on evidence and the other is based on something much deeper- like intuition or even serendipity.

Let me demonstrate: you believe that your body is not as it was when you were young and you also believe that you will die one day.

The former you can prove with medical examination but you have not and cannot have empirical proof or evidence that you will die one day.

Nevertheless, both of your knowledge are true; they are just epistemologically different.

Discussions here should be give and take of what each person knows or experienced. That way, we add our knowledge to benefit each other and those who have the education to understand the discussion.

The assumption of false padegogy - even in subjects we have no real knowledge in, just to whistle to to wild, dirty and unschooled dogs in the gallery, has completely destroyed this forum as a place to present and learn from ideas!

He strings up a bunch of Googling together, but if you took time to read thru it, you found the essay very disjointed, as if the writer was carrying a cheat-sheet into an exam room.
Stevek writes like one classmate of mine who copied A.O. Lawal’s Econs into his exams paper, but he copied all the graphs word for word including “see figure 8”.

That was how he was caught because there wasn’t any “figure 8” in his answer sheet!

The different set of fonts, and set of writings and different pros ing formations, gave Stevek away.

No one in our generation can testify to the accuracy of the date of birth of our Lord, Jesus Christ. Jesus was likely not born on 25th December. And this is not disputable! But Christmas is not about the celebration of the “Day” Jesus was born; it has everything to do with the celebration of Jesus Christ - God’s Perfect Gift to mankind. The “Day”, 25^th December did not die for our sins, to save us from eternal condemnation and reconcile us to God. Jesus did. The “Day”, 25^th December did not manifest so that it might destroy the works of the devil. Jesus did (1 John 3:8). 25th December did not come into the world to seek and to save that which was lost (Luke 19:10). Jesus did. To celebrate the birth of the Messiah, a “Day” must be set aside in commemoration. And 25^th of December happens to be that fortunate Day!

 

God created man in His own image (Genesis 1:27) and put our pioneer ancestral parents, Adam and Eve in a place of perfect Peace and Treasure (The Garden of Eden) where He only had meetings and direct communications with them. But Adam and Eve disobeyed God and ipso facto lost their right to perfect Peace and Treasure, and in the process, were thrown out of that place of eternal tranquillity by their very Creator, Master and Friend – God.

 

The sin of Adam and Eve rubbed on all generations of mankind. It brought corruption, curse, condemnation and death to the hitherto perfectly and beautifully made creation in God’s own image – man and woman.

 

With sin, “the soul of man experienced a schism with God’s Spirit. The only solution to bridge this great divide and bring mankind back in relationship with God would require a work of atonement.”

 

Let me make it abundantly clear here that the work of atonement is not limited to the first sin that Adam and Eve committed, it also takes care of the sins that we ourselves have committed.

 

Our God is the God of Love (Αγάπη – Agape). His love for man is beyond human imagination and comprehension. To put it more succinctly, He has a ridiculous love for mankind! God knew that man will fall; therefore He made safeguards for their redemption even before the foundation of the world: 

 

“…but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot. He indeed was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you. (I Peter 1:18-20 NKJV).

 

Jesus is God’s perfect Gift  (Lamb) that was foreordained for the redemption of man even before the foundation of the world. At the fullness of time, He came into the earth that He made through birth process. He wrapped Himself in flesh and blood, and chose to be born of a woman like every human being, to fulfil that purpose:

 

But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons. And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying out, “Abba, Father!” Therefore you are no longer a slave but a son, and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ. (Galatians 4:4-7 NKJV).

 

Realising the gravity of the yoke of the burden of the law under which we were condemned because of sin, which Jesus’ ultimate sacrifice broke, no celebration to commemorate Him on the date of His birth is enough!

 

When the Apostle Paul wrote that God sent Jesus in order to redeem those under the law, he was talking about all generations of mankind – you, me, our ancestors and those yet to be born. We were lost in our sins and separated from God. We could not on our own restore ourselves to a relationship with Him, but God wanted us to be free to re-establish a relationship with Him. In order to remove the barrier that stood in-between our relationship with Him, God sent Jesus “that we might receive the adoption as [His] sons and daughters, if you like.

 

Jesus is the Perfect Gift of God to mankind!

 

The Bible records in Mathew 2:11 that, Jesus was presented with gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh on His birth by the three wise men, magi from the East. Because of this, Christmas as a festivity commemorating the birth of Christ has taken the traditional profile of a period when folks give and exchange gifts.

 

During Christmas season, post offices world-wide are awash with parcels and overwhelmed with extra work-load of sorting and sending out various sizes and kinds of these parcels, cards and letters containing gifts and good wishes that people send across to their friends, loved ones, colleagues and acquaintances in the giving-spirit of the festivity.

 

Also, the birth of Jesus was greeted with unspeakable joy. “When they saw the star [over the place where baby Jesus was lying], they rejoiced with exceedingly great joy” (Matthew 2:10).

 

In the same vein, the angel brought to the shepherds a message of joy. “Then the angel said to them, Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. For there is born to you this day in the city of David  a Saviour, who is Christ the Lord” (Luke 2:10-11 NKJV).

 

“Joy” therefore has become an integral part of Christmas. Churches, offices, theatre houses, pubs, streets, name it, are abuzz with all kinds of activities that make human beings feel good during the celebration of Christmas.

 

The irony and very unfortunate thing, is that only a few in the world understands the joy of Christmas and why it is celebrated in the first place. Many have simply lost its meaning and others do not even know why they celebrate it with such a gusto of unqualified joy.

 

This article is intended to remind readers of the precious and perfect Gift of God to mankind in the Person of Jesus Christ in whose honour we celebrate Christmas. God wanted us to be freed from sin and to live in harmony with Him with a peace of mind. For this reason, He sent Jesus “that we might receive the adoption as sons.”

 

As you celebrate Jesus - the wonderful Gift of God to you in this Christmas, rejoice that by His Gift, you have been adopted into His family through Jesus Christ.

 

Christmas is not about ordinary celebration. It is all about the celebration of the greatest Gift of God to you. Celebrate Jesus with joy in this Christmas!
