ANOTHER REASON TO ENTRUST NIGERIA IN THE HANDS OF PETER OBI COME 2027

When some people enter politics, the first thing they ask for is what they can take.

But here is a man who reportedly rejected an oil block — one of the most lucrative privileges in Nigeria.
Peter Obi chose to walk away from billions that many politicians would fight for.

The real question Nigerians should ask is simple:
How many of our politicians today can look at an oil block and say “No”?

Leadership is not about how much you grab from the system…
It’s about what you are willing to sacrifice for the country. 🇳🇬

There is no question that peter Obi is was an achiever while governor, accomplished a lot on his personal life, is frugal and visionary in running a government, and is incorruptible -- unlike 99.9% of Nigerian politicians. Peter Obi would have made a better president than the absolute failure that is Ahmed Tinubu's presidency, but what startles some of us who have some hope in him is his political misjudgments.

Why did Peter Obi join ADC? If he doesn't know that he can never obtain that party's presidential candidate nomination over Atiku Abubakar, then he is politically naive that he will never become president of Nigeria. ADC is Atiku Abubakar's party -- the party is full of his minions and lackeys who would not was a second nominating him for president. Peter Obi must know this, so why did he join the party, is he indirectly withdrawing from running for president?

Pastor kala can you answer any of these questions?

Tinubu’s UK state visit: diplomacy alone won’t fix Nigeria’s problems

The Nigerian president’s visit is his latest high-profile foreign policy moment on the world stage. But his diplomatic engagements have not produced concrete benefits for most ordinary Nigerians.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s state visit to the UK this week is the first by a Nigerian leader since General Ibrahim Babangida in 1989.

Hosted by King Charles III, a state visit is the UK’s highest level of diplomatic visit and uses royal ceremony to signal and strengthen relations with key partners. It is being framed in Abuja as a landmark moment, showcasing the ‘unique bond’between the two countries and inaugurating ‘a new era of cooperation’.

Tinubu’s visit will provide an opportunity to further operationalize the Nigeria-UK Strategic Partnership, signed in November 2024 during Foreign Secretary David Lammy’s visit to Nigeria, and the February 2024 Enhanced Trade and Investment Partnership (ETIP).

The visit is also in line with Tinubu’s embrace of a foreign policy approach that centres high-profile meetings and visible diplomacy. Tinubu’s foreign policy has been rhetorically polished and sometimes strategically astute; it reflects Nigeria’s profile as a regional power and a key Commonwealth state, and has opened channels for deeper economic and security cooperation.

But nearly three years into Tinubu’s presidency, the key question is whether this visibility-driven foreign policy has delivered domestic gains. So far, the president’s prominent international profile has not largely translated into improvements in material conditions for most Nigerians.

High-profile diplomacy, uneven domestic dividends

Tinubu has engaged in frequent presidential travel, maintaining a visible presence at summits across Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Africa. His trips – and those of senior officials – have drawn criticism for their cost amid rising poverty, hunger and falling purchasing power back home.

Foreign minister Yusuf Tuggar has articulated a ‘4D Foreign Policy’ – built on democracy, development, demography and diaspora – and advocated for Nigeria’s strategic autonomy. But in practice, Nigeria’s diplomatic capacity has lagged behind its rhetoric. Ambassadorial appointments have been slow or seen as politicized, weakening diplomatic capacity to implement the administration’s agenda.

Tinubu’s administration has also sought international validation for its key domestic reforms – fuel subsidy removal, naira devaluation and tax reform. His team cites various policy achievements as proof of success. These include headline inflation falling from above 30 per cent in 2024 to around 15 per centlast month; a stabilizing naira; Nigeria’s removal from the Financial Action Task Force’s (FATF) grey list; S&P raising its outlook to ‘positive’; and renewed investor interest.

However, for many Nigerians, the combination of subsidy removal, devaluation and tougher taxation with weak safety nets recalls the ‘shock therapy’ of the late 1980s, when IMF-aligned reforms under General Babangida produced lasting social costs.

Poverty remains high, food insecurity has risen, household spending remains weak and credit remains expensive for small firms. Growth is concentrated in capital-intensive sectors such as finance and ICT, while agriculture remain constrained by insecurity and structural bottlenecks. Nigeria’s deficits in education, skills and health are having a more negative impact on future earnings than in other comparable economies.

Investment welcome, but deeper trade issues remain

Tinubu’s London visit will likely focus on leveraging the UK-Nigeria ETIP to attract investment in energy, infrastructure, technology and services – sectors where UK firms are competitive. However, any potential investments are unlikely to fix Nigeria’s struggling economy or reverse the structural drivers of migration, such as rampant insecurity and weak public services.

UK-Nigeria trade is significant, but not top-tier. It reached £8.1 billion in figures for 2025, up 11.4 per cent on the preceding year. Nigeria is the UK’s 36th largest trading partner, with the balance of trade in the UK’s favour. In comparison, Nigeria’s trade with China exceeded $22 billion (around £16.5 billion) between January and October 2025.

The UK is also a major source of FDI and a key destination for Nigerian migrants. Nigerians were one of the largest non-EU nationalities to immigrate to the UK in 2025, and remittances form an important element of Nigeria’s external accounts.

However, much of Nigeria’s non-African commerce is still dominated by hydrocarbons and imported manufactured goods, rather than higher-value non-oil exports. This pattern leaves the country vulnerable to commodity price swings and reflects structural constraints at home: roughly 85 million Nigerians still lack access to grid power. Despite a new Electricity Act in 2023, outcomes remain poor, with frequent outages.

Nigeria’s trade with other African countries also remains low. Nigeria earned roughly $478 million from exports to ECOWAS markets in 2025 – a comparatively modest amount. Despite Abuja’s vocal support for the African Continental Free Trade Agreement and its plans to host the fifth Intra-African Trade Fair (IATF) in 2027, African markets remain underexploited.

While Tinubu may secure UK investment during his visit, these deeper patterns raise doubts about whether this economic diplomacy is reducing Nigeria’s reliance on non-African trade or its exposure to global shocks. Instead, more focus is needed on tackling long-term structural challenges – especially in electricity, education and health.

Security cooperation

Security should also be a key focus of the visit. Nigeria remains locked in conflicts across multiple fronts. The jihadist insurgency in the northeast continues, while organized criminality and kidnappings plague the northwest and central Nigeria. Nigeria ranks 6th on the 2025 Global Terrorism Index.

In early February, Nigeria’s Ministry of Defence announced the deepening of defence cooperation with the UK, building on existing training, intelligence, counterterrorism and maritime cooperation. The state visit is expected to formalize and expand this agenda, potentially improving operational capabilities.

So far, security partnerships with the UK and others have improved technical capacity – particularly in maritime security, counter-IED work and some aspects of air operations. But they have not produced discernible improvement in everyday security.

Killings, kidnappings and displacement remain widespread. ACLED data indicates at least 12,860 people were killed in political violence in the past year.

Gullible Pastor Called Emeka Okala:

It's a lie. Nobody gave Peter Obidiot any oil block. Oil blocks are auctioned, It's not just awarded to any individual without bidding for it. That's another lie to prop up the stupidest and dumbest politician in Nigeria called Peter Obidiot. Of course, you don't know that, because you are the most gullible Pastor in the world. Oil blocks are auctioned in Nigeria by Nigeria Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission and you have to bid for it.

Only gullible Pastor called Emeka Okala.

General Ishola Williams:

You're wrong again. Peter Obidiot can't be VP, even if wants to. He has cornered himself to the curb. His Obidiots won't let him. To the Obidiots, it's either Peter Obidiot for President or nobody else. If he decides to be VP, his remaining Obidiots will abandon him in droves. They hate Atiku. His only choice is to go back to LP that he damaged beyond repairs. Atiku the master player has outplayed him. He brought him to ADC to boost his image as Presidential candidate and has achieved his mission, but the dummy called Peter Obidiot was to gullible to know. He played to the gallery. He danced to his tune. His is now waking up from slumber to realize his folly, but it's too late. Obidiots won't accept Atiku as Presidential candidate.

The ADC is now the old PDP. Virtually all PDP Governors have defeated to APC except Makinde. I predicted it. ADC doesn't have the wherewithal to win presidency in Nigeria. Virtually all local governments where the grassroots are in Nigeria have been won by Tinubu and his APC, leaving the ADC with only one local government, yet ADC crisis is just brewing and will implode when the primaries come around.

Tinubu and his APC will defeat ADC by landslide to win Presidency in 2027. I've predicted every presidency in Nigeria with 100% precision till date including this one.

Enjoy!

Peter Obidiot is a trader and not a leader.  He has no leadership skills and qualities. He lacks leadership acumen and integrity. That's why he damaged LP beyond redemption and defected to ADC. Before he joined LP, Labor Party had no division or crisis. As soon as he joined Labor Party, crisis engulfed Labor Party. He is always defecting from one party to another. He defected from APGA that he promised not to leave to PDP. When crisis ensued between him and Atiku in PDP, he ran away from PDP to LP at the drop of coin. When he damaged LP beyond repairs, he ran away from LP to ADC. Now that he can't get the ADC presidential ticket that belongs to Atiku, he is thinking of defecting back to LP.

Voters don't like Atiku Abubakar for president of Nigeria, so I doubt that they would vote for him if Obi is his VP. As a matter of fact, Obidients would rebel against Obi if he went along with that plan -- he has on multiple times assured his followers that he would not descend from a presidential candidate, who performed credibly, to a VP to one of his competitors. If he ate his words and became Atiku' VP, I doubt that they would win -- they would have won in 2023, not this time.

Obi's politics is immature and unassuming, that is why Sowore says that there is no difference between Obi and the rest of the politicians. Peter Obi is going to blow his following if he keeps acting 'politically slowly and overcautiously'. Instead of voting for Atiku, people in the SESS may close their eyes and vote for Tinubu.

I don't like BAT, but I won't deny that he plays smart politics. These governors are not deceiving him, he will use them as cover for rigging the election -- he is the one deceiving them.

No, Obi would not have been flying all over the world, he is Mr. Austerity and Frugality, he is excellent at not wasting resources of the government. Also, he wouldn't have this bloated government that is full of ministries and departments with duplicities of personnel/Ministers, let's give credit where credit is due.

I agree with you that he plays immature and non-assuring politics.

I think that the election will be brazenly rigged in the manner that the Edo governorship election was rigged. APC's poaching of governors is for a nefarious purpose -- a ground upon which to base rigged victories in states they have no winning ability. President Tinubu is not patriotic, he runs Nigeria recklessly and profligately -- the contract he signed in London is an example of his willingness to sacrifice Nigeria for his political end.

Nigeria's continuation as nation state will live or die after the 2027 election. Unlike president Jonathan who refused to let his personal ambition ruin Nigeria, Tinubu will sacrifice Nigeria's existence for his presidency to continue beyond May 29, 2027. Whether Nigerians will resist Tinubu and his mafia-like clique or let them get away with it will be the difference between Nigeria's living or dying. Ahmed Bola Tinubu is a dangerous man, every mien of his is typical of a killer-drug lord's -- he runs Nigeria that way too.

I still think Obi will give him a good run in Lagos. Most non-Yoruba people in Lagos will route for Peter Obi.

Atiku and Tinubu will struggle for the North.

For whatever reason, Atiku's politics in the North is weak.

Tinubu exploited that in 2023, and will exploit it again in 2027.

But then, there are those who say they gave Tinubu four years and should try Atiku for the next four years as he is most likely to run for one term.

Most of the Governors who decamped are 'jittery' in their states. Their legs are not strong enough.

Nigeria's Constitution makes no provision for your supposition/speculation. Not only that, an executive presidency does not operate this way. No matter what Obi and Atiku do, APC will rig the election to its favor brazenly and use the military and judiciary to sustain the rigged outcome. Will Nigeria survive after that? Comment:
Peter Obi hesitated but finally joined ADC out of necessity, calculation and wisdom.

You may want to know that the Labour Party (LP) was maliciously ravaged by Tinubu and his APC through the open, willing and welcoming hands of some gluttonous and heartless big wigs of the Labour Party, so much so that Peter Obi had no breathing space for survival in that once articulate party, that he became constrained to leave his once beloved LP.

Considering the composition of the ADC at the time, it didn't look like a a party of Atiku's apologists, albeit it may have gradually transitioned to that in the course of passage of time. So, you won't blame him for joining a party that looked/looks determined to flush-out President Tinubu's ineptitude and substitute it for a progressively purposeful administration that would put Nigeria aptly on the global map.

Peter Obi cannot afford to accept to become Atiku's or anyone's running mate, because that would mean shooting himself BADLY in the foot. And he knows it! He would lose ALL his followers and supporters - including this writer at one fell swoop. May that not happen!

Atiku is basically empty and has NOTHING to offer to Nigeria. A president Tinubu would be, by far, better than a president Atiku. Look at that that!! So, the buck stops with the ADC.

If ADC really means well for Nigeria as they want us to believe, they should do whatever it takes legitimately, even if it's producing a consensus candidate to give Peter Obi the flying fag of the Party. He has the wherewithal and he is visibly more than patriotic to lead the country, like the biblical Joshua, to the Promised Land.

I wish Nigeria (my country) well. Meka

You couldn't be more untruthful! I would rather you say, "Before he [Peter Obi] joined the Labour Party, the party was utterly insignificant and nothing to write home about. As soon as he joined Labour Party, the party's relevance unexpectedly and weirdly soared that it became the number one in the scheme of things in the country and finally won a landslide victory in the presidential race that Tinubu brazenly stole through the machinations of Mahmood Yakubu the ex-INEC boss."

General Ishola Williams:

Your Peter Obidiot is a desperate political prostitute. He flirts with whoever in Nigeria, in order to be president, after Atiku dashed his hope of getting ADC ticket.

Just a few days ago, he was hobnobbing with the wounded and defeated Kwankwaso, who has already lost Kano State to Tinubu, trying to ally with him. He went to Kano to attend Kwankwaso's political event and claimed he was not there for politics.

Unfortunately for Peter Obidiot, both of them cannot defeat Atiku to win the ADC presidential ticket, if Kwankwaso joins ADC. Like I said several times before, Atiku is ADC and ADC is Atiku. Yet, ADC has not won a single election in Nigeria since Atiku and his co-travelers including Peter Obidiot joined ADC. All elections have been won by APC, except one Local Government won by the damaged beyond repairs PDP. ADC has been rendered politically irrelevant by APC. ADC is a resurrection of the damaged beyond repairs PDP.

My Yoruba people say, the sign of a good Friday begins on Thursday, the eve of Friday. Local Government elections are the most important elections in Nigeria, because that's where the grassroot voters are and APC has so far won them handedly.

I've predicted all presidential elections in Nigeria since 1979 with 100% precision and accuracy. And all of them came out to be true just like I predicted, including the last presidential election and I've predicted the 2027 presidential election for Tinubu since last year. I always predict elections far ahead of time.

If I were you, I would advise Peter Obidiot to go back to trading spare parts at Alaba Market before it's too late,  in order to save face from his imminent defeat by Tinubu. The fool is a trader, not a leader. He doesn't have any leadership acumen and qualities. He is an incompetent opportunist.

I said it in these forums before your gullible leader called Peter Obidiot joined ADC that ADC is Atiku's party. That Atiku was inviting Peter Obidiot to join ADC to bolster his own status as Presidential candidate of the party and was only planning to use him. But you disagreed with me at the time because of your gullibility. You didn't have the foresight to know that Atiku was only playing on his intelligence.

I agree with you wholly in the above statement, Chukwuemeka, and it is because of the sentiment above that I was shocked when Peter Obi joined ADC. This useless party, ADC is full of all those wretched PDP and APC disgruntled, corrupt, unpatriotic, and visionless, and political mediocre bunches who ganged up and threw president Jonathan out of office; this party has nothing useful for Nigerians, its sole purpose is electing Atiku Abubakar president of Nigeria. It will not succeed because Nigerians have long decided on Atiku Abubakar -- he is unfit to be their president. Unlike in the past, when Buhari tried four times before becoming president, it won't happen that Atiku Abubakar became president of Nigeria in 2027 having been trying since 1992, so Obi should not disgrace himself and squander his followings by settling as VP of Atiku's.

You are largely correct, General Williams, but my concern is that Nigerians who love Peter Obi will turn against him if he settles as Atiku Abubakar's VP -- see how MAGA has turned against Trump for starting another foreign war, one of the main reasons that Hilary Clinton (a war hawk) lost the presidency in 2016. If Atiku and ADC mean well for Nigeria, it must field Obi and Kwankwaso and it will so handily defeat APC that APC will have no room to alter election results with rigging.

As terrible as Bola Tinubu is, I think is more preferable to Nigerians than Atiku Abubakar.

Your Igbo brother called Peter Obidiot stole millions of dollars and Naira in Anambra for 8 years, while hiding behind frugality. Frugality is a deceit to hide money in personal accounts in foreign countries.

You're a shame and an utter disgrace to humanity.

BREAKING: Nigeria’s Ex-Acting Accountant-General Nwabuoku Sentenced To 72 Years For N868Million Fraud

Sahara Reporters

Justice James Omotosho delivered the judgment on Monday, March 23, 2026, after finding Nwabuoku guilty on multiple counts of money laundering in a case prosecuted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) involving N868,465,000.

Justice James Omotosho delivered the judgment on Monday, March 23, 2026, after finding Nwabuoku guilty on multiple counts of money laundering in a case prosecuted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) involving N868,465,000.

Nwabuoku, who previously served as Director of Finance at the Ministry of Defence, had in February admitted before the court that he authorised the transfer of funds from the ministry to four private companies for what he described as “classified purposes”

The former government official admitted during his trial that, in a statement to the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) on February 2, 2025, he acknowledged overseeing the transfer of funds to the companies for undisclosed security-related operations.

The firms involved in the case include Temeeo Synergy Concept Limited, Turge Global Investment Limited, Laptev Bridge, and Arafura Transnational Afro Limited.

His confession marked a dramatic shift from his earlier stance during the proceedings, where he denied any dealings with the companies and claimed he only became aware of them during court sessions.

During cross-examination, prosecution counsel, Ekele Iheanacho, SAN, confronted Nwabuoku with his prior statement to the ICPC, in which he admitted facilitating the transactions.

The prosecution argued that there was no evidence to support the claim that the funds were used for legitimate security purposes, stressing that no documentation was presented to link the payments to lawful government operations.

According to the EFCC, the transfers formed part of a broader scheme of financial misappropriation, with funds allegedly diverted and routed through private companies under the guise of security expenditures.

In a related development, Nwabuoku told the court that he acquired his residence through legitimate means.

However, under further questioning, he admitted that a cheque of N64 million issued by a company, Mdavi Limited, was used to pay City Gate Homes for the property.

The revelation raised fresh concerns from the prosecution regarding the source of the funds and the nature of his relationship with the company.

The EFCC had arraigned Nwabuoku on an amended nine-count charge bordering on money laundering, in violation of provisions of the Money Laundering (Prohibition) Act.

With the conviction, the court upheld the anti-graft agency’s position that the funds in question were unlawfully diverted and laundered through private entities.

Nebu:

I am surprised you missed the humor in my suggestion of a dual Presidency of Nigeria shared by Atiku and PO just like the even and odd number days used to manage traffic jams in Nigeria a few decades ago and currently in some other countries.

At what time of the day would the mantle for the Presidency change hands — would it be at bedtime or midnight?

Bye,

Ola

Peter Obi will take the South South and the South East. His support in those regions has not waned. They believe there is nothing to show for 4 years of Tinubu.

Tinubu will take his South West. His people believe that he has brought massive projects to the South-West region thanks to Hitech, ITB and the other Chagoury entities.

Anything can happen.

There are no political parties in Nigeria but Politrickal Groups and Alliances led by Kleptocrats with no strategic foresight.
PO too has none when he was honest about not beating Atiku for the Presidential ticket.  In the present situation,Atiku can make PO a strong VP like Ekwueme in Shagari days and enable his Presidency thereafter.
APC can only rig massively in the North but most Northerners donot want BAT  to continue.
PO is floating about with Kwankwaso, Makinde and Dickson who are yet to join ADC because Makinde wants to be President too, Kwankwaso is ready as VP to any Southerner while Dickson wants political relevance.
They can not bring in the votes he needs in the North.
PO has only few weeks before he becomes irrelevant.iw

I used to worry that as President, Atiku may be too transactional for instance, award large volume national road projects to his cronies and associates and then award multi billion dollar Ports overhaul and concessioning to associates Gabriel Volpi (of INTELS and Orient) etc etc.

Somehow, studying the situation of the past few months and maybe a year, I suspect that if Peter Obi runs with Atiku against Tinubu, they will win.

They may not have been able to win against Buhari but I suspect they can pull a win against Tinubu.

The entire Buhari structure might want to try Atiku for 4 years.

Just saying.

Why "not anymore", GK? Atiku Abubakar has always been a virulent economic mercenary since his days at the Nigerian Customs/Excise and through his VP tenure, the humongous terrible size of its wrecking the peoples wealth was frightening enough for president Obasanjo to swear never to make any room for Atiku Abubakar to become president of Nigeria -- a position through which Atiku would make Nigeria a private property of his and of his allies (foreign Arabs and domestic ones). Are you aware that Atiku Abubakar has been residing in Dubai 90% of the time since 2019, and do you want him to replicate in Nigeria the perfidy of his country man, Paul Biya, who misrules Cameroon from Switzerland?

GK, I know that you are relatively young, but I also sense that you are politically naive. I would have Tinubu go three terms (because we already know the extent of his criminality) than have Atiku Abubakar go for even one term. GK, you were hailing and rooting for Tinubu in 2023, but you have seen the truth now -- the same truth we also told you about him then that you refused to accept. You opposed Peter Obi then, just as you still oppose him now, yet you are proposing Atiku Abubakar, who is more economic pernicious to Nigeria than Bola Tinubu as the next president, instead of Peter Obi who has never stolen, is never reckless and abusive of public funds, is frugal to the core (a frugal leader never signs away or wastes his nations resources), and is never ostentatious to the degree that he mingles with the people? If I didn't know any better, I would conclude that you either benefit from the roguery of these kleptocrats or you have Obi Derangement Syndrome (ODS).

General,

Labour Party has zoned the presidency to the South. Even then it will be difficult to get Atiku to back down and allow PO run. And PO's people will not agree.

Atiku got 5.82 million votes against Tinubu's 5.60 million votes in Northern Nigeria in the 2023 elections. His pull in the North is still weak but with the 'persecution' of El Rufai and Malami, he may inherit their followers.

IF Peter agrees to be VP to Atiku and their alliance is backed by Kwankwaso and whatever is left of Buhari's CPC that is not on TInubu's side, they may just be able to take the North, South South and South East.

The day they announce that partnership, the entire national politics will re-align.

GIW et al,

You said Peter Obi is a kleptocrat, yet you said he is not as greedy as the others.

Are you defending kleptocracy or defending the degree of kleptomania?

There is no in-between between good or bad. Fairly good is just making bad sound good while fairly bad is making good sound bad.

Kleptocracy is wrong. All politicians in Nigeria kleptocrats and have tendency for kleptomania. That is why I feel when people compare Tinubu and Obi on the basis of corruption, that they are just simply being insincere. There is no difference between any Nigerian politician in terms of honesty.
What one has to consider is what the politician will bring to the table or contribute to the betterment of the people.
So, on that regards, if you compare what Tinubu can contribute and what other politicians like Obi, Atiku and the rest can bring, no one can touch Tinubu.

None of the other aspiring presidential could have achieved and implemented the meaningful policies that Tinubu has accomplished in less than 4 years.

Anybody that says otherwise is just fooling themselves or feeling left out of kleptocracy that Nigeria runs.

You are mortgaging the fate of 200 million Nigerians on your false calculation that El-Rufai and Malami are popular in the North, even though Buhari's arch followers were soured on him, because he accomplished nothing for them, before he died. I grew up in the North and I understand Northerners, who understand politics better than Southerners, even though Southerners are better literate in formal education.

Malami and El-Rufai may never win any elective offices in the North of today because of the ineptitude of the Buhari presidency, wherein they played active/frontline roles. Contrary to your fantasy, this duo will never positively impact the political fortunes of Atiku Abubakar in the North. Buhari was no longer seen as a savior by the talakawa by his 6th year in office and by how the people felt about him was obvious after his death -- there were sporadic celebrations, not a single organized weeping or gnashing of teeth for him -- the talakawa are not politically stupid, most of them have expressed regret for sacking president Jonathan, who had implemented some measures targeted specifically for them.

Tinubu polled well in the North in the last election simply for the Muslim-Muslim ticket, which no longer means much to the Northerners since he assumed power -- a mullah recently asked voters to no longer vote based on Muslim-Muslim ticket's trickery. General Williams' assumption that a VP Obi will be empowered, as was the case with Shagari/Ekwueme in 1979, is also a miscalculation because it is based on improperly understanding that Shagari administration. VP Ekwueme was given an executive-like power only specific to matters that involved then Federal Capital Territory (FTC) and this lasted only before their rigged reelection. Once they came back to power in 1983, Shagari confined him back to a spare tire through delegating all the powers he had exercised for Abuja to Umaru Dikko, who basically became rude to Ekwueme. That rudeness and disrespecting of Ekwueme led Okadigbo and some Southern politicians to become combative towards Dikko. Had the military not struck, the Shagari presidency would have splintered because Umaru Dikko was acting as the VP of Nigeria, and doing so insultingly to Ekwueme, while Okadigbo and some young Igbo politicians were being disrespectful to him (Dikko).

Bottom-line, Nigeria's VPs do not exercise meaningful power (even Idiagbon was more of a spokesperson to Buhari, in the eyes of the Northerners, than a powerful second in command). Ebitu Ukiwe was thrown out once he had something to say; Aikhomu was basically a boyi-boyi to Babangida, having learned to not question anything from the fate of Ukiwe; the same thing was with Aikhigbe. President Obasanjo, like Shagari, assigned VP Atiku to powerful functions involving the Nigerian economy/privatization but not only did Atiku rob Nigeria dry from it, it also intoxicated him enough that he almost displaced Obasanjo for reelection. After Obasanjo survived that political coup and returned as president, he stripped Atiku of all functions, up to asking Atiku to resign from the VP position -- and even claimed to have fired his VP at some point, which Nigerians rejected because the Constitution does not empower the president to fire the VP.

Yar'Adua kept VP Jonathan in check almost redundant, with almost no assigned function -- he wasn't even aware of the extent of his president's ailment and death. Jonathan did assign functions to his VP Sambo, but not a powerful function that could have been noticed by anyone. Buhari was initially gentlemanly by going along with Osinbajo, up to formally handing over to him on one of his absences from office due to ill-health. Osinbajo performed so boldly and spectacularly that Buhari was frightened and not only reversed some of his actions but also put him on a short leash throughout their presidency. No sooner was Tinubu sworn-in than he forgot that he came with a VP. Kashim Shettima's fantasy of handling security matters, while Tinubu handled the economy, was shoved down his ass immediately they got into office, by Tinubu who barely acknowledges him. Their relation has been so distanced that, sometime last year, some Senators from the North began lamenting the minimizing of the VP through allocation of funds to his office and execution of any meaningful assignments. As I write, Seyi Tinubu (president's son) is more powerful in this administration than VP Shettima.

Bottom-line: Peter Obi will be committing political suicide by accepting the VP slot with the fantasy that Atiku will make him an executive VP. Atiku Abubakar should retire from running for president; Peter Obi should run with Kwankwaso, they will win but APC will rig their victory, use the military and courts to sustain the rigging, and one can only imagine what will become of Nigeria thenceforth.

Liar And Empty Head Called George Kerley:

Tinubu got 38% of the votes cast in the North in the 2023 General Election. Atiku got 36% of the votes cast in the North and Peter Obidiot got 14% of the vote cast in the North and that happened when virtually all Governors, Senators and Reps in the North had not defected to APC.

North West propelled Tinubu to victory in the North with 2.6 million votes. Tinubu won the North, you brain damaged fool called George Kerley.

If the presidential election was held today with all the defections to APC, Tinubu would defeat both Atiku and Peter Obidiot in the North and the South by landslide.

You're a shame and a disgrace to your village in Nigeria.

Atiku with you wholly in the above statement, Chukwuemeka, and it is because of the sentiment above that I was shocked when Peter Obi joined ADC.

You're a disgrace to your prostituting mother.

Son of A Prostitute Called George Kerley:

If you're looking for your real father, look no further than one of Umu bushes in Port Harcourt. He is a Fulani Herder who was having a good time in your mother's pussy in the hotel.

Fulani Herders hardly see their wives. So he went into the hotel to find a pussy and voila, he found your mother waiting for clients at the door and your mother popped you out of her pussy on to the floor after heavy and marathon banging.

Oga Nebu,

Tompolo's energy, character, ability, integrity, intelligence and loyalty has been tested. Asabuja is a wannabe. It is an insult to put Tompolo's name with Asabuja in the same space. I will not even mention mine.

Ignore what is useless.

Many regards

EmojiEmojiEmojiEmojiEmojiEmojiEmojilol, I just began hearing Asabuja's name but I have been hearing of Tompolo for a long time, even though he is relatively young. I don't know much about him except that he is sort of mysterious and worshiped by many, even in Bayelsa state -- when I visited and spent a couple of weeks there last year.

One thing I can say about Asabuja, in the little time that I have known of him, is that he is honest. For one, he doesn't deny being Igbo or deny that Ikwere is Igbo. Secondly, he speaks to the heart of the matter, even on this subject matter, he is not criticizing or challenging Tompolo, whom he called his "oga" in that speech. He is just raising something that might elicit trouble later on. He is pointing out the very indolence that Ikwere folks exhibit, for which Igbos of the mainland chastised them before the war, and for which they became offended and began to deny being Igbo. It makes no sense that Tompolo alone is guiding all the pipelines in the entire South-South and even in some parts of Imo and Abia states. Those pipelines are all over Ikwere land, yet no Ikwere is partaking in the booty from guiding them? Asabuja is Ikwere but he reasons as if he was raised by Igbos of the mainland.
