Aloha Awesome Board Members,
I was in the harbor office this morning to pay for Saphira's mooring. So I asked many questions about Cheers and Dancer. Here is what I found out:
1. Dancer does not have any temporary mooring on record for this year. Yay! That means that we can get a temporary mooring permit for the rest of this year and then 4 months in 2026.
2. Cheers can stay in Wailoa until August 23rd. Then her 4 months are up. Monica said that we could bring her under the bridge for 2 to 3 days without charge to raise her mast and do the deck hardware if we do it before that August 23rd deadline. However, she said we need to let her know and she will designate a slip for us.
3. Since I will be gone during Camp, I asked her where she would like us to park the safety boats during fall camp as this was an issue during summer camp. She said to make sure it is not in slip number 35 because even though that guy's boat is out of the water, he always complains about people being in his slip. I will make sure my coaches know this. But please remind them as they are all very young. She said she will look into having a designated slip over by Antoine's trimaran.
4. We need to do a request for vessel change so that we can move Cheers out to the Reeds Bay mooring when we move Dancer into the harbor. I picked up the form and started to fill it out and then realized I could not do it because I'm not on the board anymore. LOL. So I have it at my house if anyone could pick it up and fill it out.
5. Our Reed's Bay mooring needs to be renewed in April of 2026. We definitely need to have this widely broadcast somehow. *We Do Not Get A Renew Notice For This*. Luke won't be treasure anymore. So we need somebody new to be watching over these things so that we don't lose our mooring like we did with the Dancer slip... And by the way, the late fees are $250 per month for late renewal as Gary and I found out the hard way when he was Commodore and I was Vice Commodore. After 2 months you lose your slip. Scott had mercy on us us and called us And we happily paid the $500 late fee in order to keep our slip, but Monica has been instructed to not make those calls.
