Custom icon sizes and colours

Can anyone help me with finding out the two icon sizes which MLO (desktop) can work with.
The current version of the MLO guide says that you can only upload 16x16 32-bit icons, but I'm sure that's wrong: I remember reading something different in the past, and the built-in icon set includes some bigger icons for use with Views and Tabs.

You can also use 24x24 and 32x32 icons.
