How can I get the NEWEST listings to the top of the page?

Sorry John, but no.

The posts you point to have all been "pinned", so they stay at the top of the list. This is because they have important reference information fir new members, so Andrey doesn't want them to get lost among the other threads.

OK I see that now. Apologies - I am new to GGroups. And for some reason Google doesn't seem to mark the pinned items up very obviously  :^(

In fact it's not quite so simple. Yes, some have been "pinned" but some are "announcements". I have no idea what the difference is, however. But that is what initially confused me - the fact that they were not ALL pinned!

Hi, John. I'm not really clear on the difference between a pinned post and an announcement, but I do believe that we are not discussing MLO anymore. Maybe there's a forum for discussing Google Groups where you could find an answer to this issue.

No but we are discussing a significant part of the (newbie) MLO user experience(!)
My firm suggestion is to move the forum away from Google Groups in favour of better/more easily customisable (etc) software.
