Looking for your favorite built-in Hotkey in MLO

Greetings,

Just a general question that I'm hoping might allow me to extract just that much more productivity from MLO.

What's your favorite built-in MLO Hotkey, to speed up operations?

I've been adding more hotkeys every week, but which ones do you find you most frequently use?

I also have AutoHotKey installed, which works *excellent* for macros, but in the interest of keeping things simple I'm looking for built-in commands that seem to have the most value.

Are you using "MLO Hotkeys" for MLO? If not I'd strongly advise to at least checking it out ...

 

I'm using this macro package since years, and I'm having to say, that it boosts productivity light years ahead! At the beginning I had to adjust a few commands to suit my needs, but since that's done it's really an integral part of my MLO experience, and it's so much more powerful than "just" MLO's built-in hotkeys.

Disregard... found it in the forums...

Mostly I was curious what hotkeys users find to be indispensible (depending on workflow of course) since it'll take the better part of a year before most all available hotkeys will become ingrained to to the point that I don't have to think about it...

I can't answer your question, because I've replaced a lot of the built-in hotkeys with customised shortcuts (MLO tools-options), so I can use the same combination of ctrl, alt or shift for a group of related functions.

I tend to use Ctrl-Alt for any navigation commands and Alt-Shift for modifying an item - eg to change it to a folder, I now press Alt-Shift-F.

I attach a list of all the hotkeys and shortcut keys, created as an Excel file with an autofilter.

But an excellent tool is PhraseExpress (www.prhaseexpress.com).

Eberhard,   do you have a version of "MLO Hotkeys" that is working fine with MLO v4.1.1 ??   I would really like to receive this if you do.  Some of my favorite functions stopped working with the release of v4.0 and i've struggled the app since.

you're talking about that AHK package from Jon Rumens, right!

 

I'm still using this extensively, though I've had to adjust some hotkeys when migrating from 3.x to 4.x.

 

Let me know, which hotkeys you're specifically struggling with and I'll see what I can do.

 

Unfortunately I'm not able to send my current file, since I've added some funktionality and incorporated some "personal stuff" that might be worthless for you. So better go for specific functions that I might be able to "extract" from my own file.

Yes, Josh, I'm still using Jon Rumens' script extensively but have modified it a lot to suit my needs. I'm currently on the road but will send you the relevant part of the script if you want.

Just to mention in advance ... I'm neither Jon Rumens' "successor" nor would I claim all this "my intelectual property". I'm just a heavy user of Jon Rumens' old (and now a bit updated) MLO AHK script, who couldn't live without it (since it's so extremely useful and since it's pushing my productivity in conjunction with MLO that enourmously) hence tweaked it accordingly. Consequently it goes without saying that I'm not interested to invest time in "support" or "customization" (I'm simply not having the neccessary time to doing this).

Here is a modified file which works with MLO 4.3.1

Please be noted that i modified the DueToday to Ctrl + q (couldn't make the old Ctrl+` to work).
Also check the Alt+Space shortcut (partial complete). It duplicates the selected task, it is marking the old task as complete, and is adding the text ATTEMPT 2 (3, 4, .... and so on) to the new task.
