Sync problems from MLO desktop to Google Calendar

I am able to connect MLO to my google account but am unable to get past the "select calendar" step of the set -up wizard; now options are available.

I have:
  1. Created a new calendar in google calendar
  2. Attempted to us the "create new calendar.." button but to no avail
