Can you set up a reminder to go off every xx minutes exactly, and not only after completion?

I want to log my work activities very precisely.  Thus I want a reminder to do so to go off at exactly, say, every 6 minutes (1/10 an hour).  However from what I can see reoccuring reminders only reset to xx minutes after the task is marked complete. This means that if I do not click on the reminder immediately (say I want to the toliet) then the reminders start lagging behind the precise fractions of an hour that I require my log to cover.
