I tried to create a custom view on MLO Android basically what I want is all active actions that have either a start or a due date set. I started by creating a new view called "Now" giving it the same settings as the "Active Actions" view.

For reference, here is how the built-in "Active Actions" is set up:

As you can see, except for the name they are exactly set up the same way.

However the "Now" view shows me a lot of tasks that are in contexts that are currently closed, while the built-in "Active Actions" view shows only tasks in currently open contexts. Is there some extra magic going on for the "Active Actions" view that I need to replicate for the custom views or is this a bug in the software?

Kind regards,
Jan

Hi Jan,

The "active actions" view is based on a set of filters which are not so obvious. For example, the option "Include closed" is unchecked in the default "Active actions" view. To exclude tasks with closed contexts in your custom view tap on the three-dot icon at the bottom right to expand the bottom menu, then select "context filter". The toggle called "include closed contexts " should be off.

As a workaround you can either A) create the view from the desktop version and then import it in the Android version or B) You can set an advaced filter:
FIELD: "Context"
CONDITION: "Contains - consider open/closed"
VALUE:  (you leave the value empty).

I havent tried it but it should work
