This morning my phone's cloud sync is hanging. Not having any problem synchronizing my laptop, and before today my phone sync was fine.

I am using latest available version of MLO for Android on an HTC One Android v4.3

Any ideas? I have confirmed my cloud subscription is in full effect. I don't have enough updates to warrant the sync running this long. And this is happening over 3G as well as WiFi.

Thanks!

Hi, Jim. The cloud's working fine for me.  I would try this experiment: create a new empty profile on your phone and sync it with your existing cloud file.

Thanks Dwight. When I did that, it tells me "The file is currently being synchronized by a user '<xxx>'. Please try again later." where xxx is my own e-mail address. Thinking maybe just an uninstall/reinstall...?

Should have mentioned - I have restarted my phone but that has not fixed the problem.

Jim, please try to create new Cloud file and sync to it. Does it help?

I think I found a bug recently that can cause the Android Cloud sync to hang.  I tried tonight and was able to reproduce it.  Maybe something similar is happening to you

On my desktop MLO, I create "Task A" with subtask "Task B".  Sync to cloud.  Then sync the Android device to cloud.

Now I realize that I entered these tasks with the parent/child relationship backwards, so I reverse them.  I drag "Task B" out to be a sibling of "Task A", then drag and drop "Task A" on to "Task B", so that "Task A" becomes a child subtask of "Task B".

Sync desktop to cloud, and it works fine.  Then try to sync Android to cloud, and it hangs.

To fix this, I go back to the desktop, make both tasks siblings, and sync  (after killing the Android MLO task or shutting down the device, and waiting for the cloud to release the hung session).  Now I can re-sync the Android and all is well.

If I perform these same steps in the opposite direction-- swapping the parent/child relationship on Android, syncing Android, then syncing desktop, then desktop MLO aborts the sync and gives me an error message:  "Could not move a task to its child task or to itself.  Task 'task A';New Parent 'task B'".

I will try the sync on a brand new independent tasklist. But Steve - your idea is likely my problem. The volume of interaction I do, not to mention rearranging things, makes it very likely that I have done just what you described. The tricky part will be finding where it happened. Fortunately, I think I could also address it by just starting from scratch on my phone and re-syncing to download the whole thing over again.

Cool - Thanks. For my situation it was easiest to just remove the app and reinstall and sync. All is well for now :)

I am glad this thread exists.  I'm running Android version 1.6.9 and I ran into this problem tonight:

I think I found a bug recently that can cause the Android Cloud sync to hang.  I tried tonight and was able to reproduce it.  Maybe something similar is happening to you

On my desktop MLO, I create "Task A" with subtask "Task B".  Sync to cloud.  Then sync the Android device to cloud.

Sync desktop to cloud, and it works fine.  Then try to sync Android to cloud, and it hangs.

Once I knew the problem, It was a pretty easy fix.  I reversed the above and resynched my phone, and it worked.

Then I:

1) copied Task A, and Deleted the Original Task A
2) Moved the new (copy) Task A as Child of Task B.
3) Re-synched with phone, no problem.

Thanks.  Should maybe be fixed if it hasn't been.  (I haven't gotten on 1.6.10 yet.)

Nathan
