Total time required for the day?

Is there a way to show the total time required for the rest of the day in the to-do list?

So, basically I have a ton of things to do today so I'm putting in the max time required. It would help to see how much time I'll need for everything today, so I could instantly see if I need to change something to the next day.

Is there a way to do this now? Or, do you have some sort of API I could use to just grab the total?
