I want to know how to properly customise MLO. I used to love working with MLO, but recent iterations have disappointed due to their appearance. Obviously MLO is not lacking in power and utility, indeed it increases it's functionality through each version, but I am depressed by it's appearance every time I launch it. I am aware that my frustration could appear trivial, but I find myself more and more distracted by trying to get MLO "look" right, rather than using it for organising my life.
Firstly I wanted to remove all the ghastly icons. There is an option on the Workspace tabs, but I could not find the option elsewhere. I did find a workaround on the Task View pane; by deleting the icon in use from the total collection of icons, a specific icon is removed. To avoid deleting the provided "system" icons I added a self created blank icon and used that instead.
There is no option to change the lack of annotation in monochrome hieroglyphics on the Toolbar however and/or change them. I also would like to change the tick boxes to resemble those in use in earlier versions of MLO (see attached pic.) I would also like to create a personalised toolbar/menu bar/ribbon such as is possible with many Microsoft Office products and other programs.
So, am I missing something? Or is this level of customisation impossible in the current version? If anybody has any ideas, I would be grateful. I could even consider installing older versions of MLO if these are still available. The attached image shows an earlier version and is similar to what i want to achieve, but not exactly how I want it now.
