Hi,

Not sure if this is possible.

What I have is a series of parent tasks that have a particular flag.  The subtasks do not have a flag applied (I don't want to have to remember to flag each item).

I would like to create a view that shows me all the tasks with a flag, and the associated subtasks (which are not flagged).  Anyone know of a way that that is possible???  I can create the view with the flagged items, but cannot work out how to see the associated subtasks.  Otherwise I will look at contexts, which are at least inherited - but I prefer in this case the visual aspect of the flag..

Thanks.

Hi, Mark. This is exactly the kind of thing MLO is great at. You have probably already done steps one through five, I included them in case some other reader needs them. You might want to start at step six

1. If the left hand sidebar is not showing, hit alt-F1 to bring it up

2. The sidebar title should say “Views” at the top. If you see some view name instead, click on the title (view name) to bring up the view list.

3. Find & click on the view “all tasks”. You may have to expand a group name (such as “outline”) to get to “all tasks”.

4. Click on the title (which should say “Views” now) to bring up the definition of the all tasks view.

5. In the “Flags” section, check off all of the flags that you want included in this report.

6. In the “General” section find “Show Hierarchy” and make certain that it says “Yes”.

7. Click on the word “config” to the right of “Show Hierarchy: yes”

8. Make sure that “include child items” is checked and that all other checkboxes are cleared.

That’s it, your desired report should be now showing.

Next steps, if you wish:

-save this view so you can use it again whenever you need it.  Give it a name, like “red-flagged tasks”.

-create a tab. Give it a name, like “flagged”. Set the tab’s default view to this new view.

-Dwight
