Hi,

I have workspaces for each of my major life areas.  I like to see only the active actions view by default, but when entering a new task, I need to see the underlying hierarchy so I can enter it into the right project or list.

I wanted to do with with a shortcut key, but I can not find one under options that supports this.

Am I not seeing it, or can someone suggest another one-stroke or click way to do this?

Thanks,

Grant

OK, for now, I created a Hierarchy Workspace, showing everything, and put it as the first tab (I am not sure that is necessary), and have all my other workspaces set to sync with the first tab.
That way I can select any task in the task list workspace for a life area, and then click on the first tab to see that task in the full hierarchy.  This might even be more useful what what I initially requested.
I also have a TODAY workspace, showing only the tasks I starred for attention today, and an All Active Actions view, so I can see a simple full list of all possible choices.
Cheers....

You certainly seem to be headed in the correct direction. It was something to try: in one of your task lists, try double clicking on a task. It should probably bring you to your all tasks view, what you are calling hierarchy workspace, with the task that you clicked on selected and highlighted

Wohhhh! Awesome!  There is so much to learn about MLO - thats both good and bad... its amazing it does not have a bigger following, except that most people these days want fancy, and not functional...

I will also add, that I had the workspace locked, because I was afraid to delete them.. but if they are unlocked, I can use views, and double click on the tap to go to my defaul view.  And, if I try to delete a workspace with a default view, I am warned, so its unlikely I will delete it...   I need to study view more too...
