Hi:

I remember when I first started using MLO that there was a hotkey that puts a new task above the current selected task.

Is that a figment of my imagination or does anyone know what it is?:

Thanks,
Ed

Hi, Ed. I think that I'm an oldtimer but I don't remember this hotkey. That doesn't prove anything though,  I'm not a big user of hotkeys.

Just one thought: the need for a hotkey like that has declined since drag and drop got so powerful.

Thanks Dwight. Yeah, I'm think more and more it was imagination!

I've for certain kinds of thing my fingers on the keyboard are faster than moving my mouse. But hey, everybody's different :-)

alt+shift+arrow = move task (right = make it subtask, left = make it sibbling task, down and up = move below and above)
Very fast, you let uour hands on the keyboard

Thanks, Oliver.

I do use use alt-shift all the time and it's definitely the fastest way I know to move an existing task above another task.

Just wishing I could create a task above the currently selected task. :-)

You're probably thinking of the infamous MLOHotkeys, an AHK script.  In one variation, Ctrl-Alt-C will take any highlighted text, moved to a defined spot in your outline and paste it at the top of the <folder>, whatever.
