Hello, recently I have noticed that my software is unable to update through the cloud. After deleting the original configuration and creating a new one, it keeps showing "Verifying User", but I can access the website directly through a browser.

Hello 小潘 and everyone,

I've been experiencing the exact same issue as 小潘 described. After upgrading to MLO 6 on Windows and renewing my MLO Cloud subscription, the sync process started to fail. Just like 小潘, my Windows software doesn't sync, even though I can access the MLO Cloud website directly through a browser without any problems.

Here are some details from my situation that might be relevant:

  1. Environment:

    • I am using MLO 6 on a Windows PC.
    • My MLO Cloud account is active and recently renewed.
  2. Issue Description:

    • The synchronization was working fine until I renewed my subscription to MLO Cloud.
    • The error began immediately after entering the new activation code.
    • The sync works perfectly on my two Android devices and on the MLO Cloud website, but not on the Windows app.
  3. Troubleshooting Steps Taken:

    • I have verified that there are no network issues: the internet connection is stable, the software is allowed through the Windows firewall, and there is no active antivirus or proxy interfering.
    • I also restarted the sync configuration, but to no avail.
  4. Observations:

    • The last successful sync happened 18 days ago, just before the renewal of my subscription, suggesting that the issue might be linked to the renewal process itself.

I have attached screenshots showing the sync logs and the error messages. If anyone else has faced this issue or has suggestions, I'd appreciate your insights. And 小潘, you're not alone in this! It seems like it might be a broader issue affecting several users.

Looking forward to hearing if anyone has found a solution or if the support team provides any new information.

Best regards,

Hugo González

I contacted the support, and they totally fixed my issue...
It was an issue that didn't happen when using MLO 5, but happened with MLO 6.
I just needed to update a configuration in Windows 7.
Here it is the info, in case someone finds it useful:

-----

This error (12175) can be related to TLS settings on Windows systems, particularly if the system hasn't been updated to support TLS 1.2. Please try the following recommendation:

'Usually happens on Windows 7.  Run Windows Update and make sure all updates have been installed.

Technical details. The error means your Windows operating system has not been configured for TLS 1.2.
Although your desktop applications, like browsers, work with TLS 1.2, that doesn't mean that your WinHTTP stack is configured to work with TLS 1.2. To configure your Windows operating system's WinHTTP stack for TLS 1.2, run Windows Update and make sure all updates have been installed. Then navigate to this page (https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/3140245/update-to-enable-tls-1-1-and-tls-1-2-as-a-default-secure-protocols-in#easy) and scroll down to the "East Fix" subheadng. In the paragraph below click on the "here" link to download the Easy Fix installer. Running this installer will modify your registry settings to enable TLS 1.2.'

Oh nice. I spent some time trying to think "what could be different besides the upgrade to MLO 6, but often forget to ask what actual version of Windows. Yeah Win 7 has not been supported by Microsoft for approaching 2 years.

Similarly some software stops working with an OS upgrate like my OpenVPN after upgrade to Win 11. Like you, I needed to install some obscure protocol that wasn't automatically installed anymore. Sure glad to know this issu since I'm restoring Win 7 on an old PC because it has lifetime parts and labor warranty. Thanks!

Yes, Windows 7 is indeed not supported by Microsoft anymore...  The key here is that MLO for Windows is actually advertised as supporting Windows 7, which I particularly appreciate. I understand new games and computational intensive software requires modern hardware, but this kind of task management software doesn't require so much power to work. It is great when companies like MLO still support old hardware, so we can still keep them in use. I also have a modern computer and Android devices, but my old Win 7 laptop is extremely quiet and convinient. So I am really glad it still works perfectly fine for this kind of tasks! Glad you can also restore your old PC!
