MLO'ers - Looking for volunteers

Fellow MLO devotees, I'm looking for two or three people to participate in an online video chat about MLO.

BACKGROUND

There is a new website (still in beta) which is taking the Social Media world by storm at the moment called Blab. It's basically like a series of public Google Hangouts sessions but what makes it different is: -

• they have absolutely nailed it technically (unlike Google Hangouts)
• they have the format just right
• it's very easy for newcomers

The reason for my request is twofold; firstly, I wanted to host my own Blab to test it out technically, and secondly, I thought it would be fun to chat with people who use MLO.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

• the chats are public, so anyone can watch and listen
• the chats can be recorded although I will not be recording this one as it's just a test

WHAT YOU NEED

• same set up as for Skype video calling i.e. reasonable webcam/mic/speakers/headset - having said that a lot of people are using smartphones successfully
• reasonable internet connection
• willingness to discuss anything MLO (hopefully that's a given) and try something new

Hi all,

Adam and I are going ahead with our test discussion tomorrow (Thu 27 Aug 2015) at 15.00 UK time (GMT+1). There isn't a unique URL you just go to https://blab.im/index and it will be one of the listed broadcasts titled Test Discussion run by Ken Warren. All are welcome; you can participate or just watch. It's only a test but it might be something which we can use to discuss MLO in the future.

Well, we did it and, even if I say so myself, it went very well. It was just a test but Adam and I both really enjoyed talking about MLO face to face with another user. We came to the same conclusions that the Blab platform would be great for chatting about MLO in addition to this forum. However, we both agreed that the very best next step would be to get Andrey involved in either an interview and/or a general chat with users. In case he thinks this would be intimidating I have to tell you (and him) that we spent most of the time talking about just how wonderful MLO was and how we wished he was there so we could tell him personally. What do you all think? Would you participate if we arranged something?

Blab was fun to use, and both surprisingly simple and smooth.

Looking forward to future MLO blabs, maybe even with Andrey. Now that would be something!
