Hi everyone,

I've just started properly trying out the iPad version of MLO after many years of happily using the desktop version.

There's one bug with the iPad version that I just found: how it views taks with relation to project status. In the desktop version, I modify my "Active Actions" views by filtering out any actions that belong to projects that are not In Progress. This works perfectly on the desktop version but not the iPad version - here it only looks at the status of the action itself, not of the project to which it belongs.

Can you please consider this correction in an upcoming release?

Thanks
Simon

Hello Simon,

Can you give us some more details about what advanced filter parameter you were using, please?  ProjectStatus applies to the task itself and there doesn't seem to be a filter parameter for ParentProjectStatus or TopLevelProjectStatus.  So, I can't recreate or test your filter conditions on my iPad or desktop.

Hi Stéphane,

The settings are
  • Action filter = Active
  • Advanced filter: ProjectStatus = In Progress.
Using this filter on the desktop version, I can see the child actions of In Progress projects, even though I did not assign the project status to the individual child actions.

On the iPad version (and the iPhone version too - just checked), this shows no child actions - so here the ProjectStatus does apply only to the task itself, as you mentioned. Similarly, if I were to use the filter ProjectStatus <> Suspended, the iOS version still shows the child actions of projects that are Suspended while desktop version does not.

The ability to filter out actions based on the status of its associated project is a fantastic feature in the desktop program. It also makes  the ProjectStatus field a lot more functional. A future nice-to-have would be (optionally) tying the very definition of "Active Item" to this project status.

Thanks,
Simon

Thanks for the clarification, Simon.  I've just submitted this as a bug report, on the Jira issue-tracking site for the beta testers. I've asked that the iPad (and iPhone) version be made to act in the same way as the desktop version.

For ref: The issue reference is MLOBETA-191.
