Custom Views?

I am using the cloud sync and have defined a few custom views.

Do I need to export and then import EACH view?

Anyone know when views will be able to be synced via cloud?

Check out this link on the MLO site. They have the instructions for desktop to mobile and other mobile to mobile. Essentially you select the views, export them (I do it via Gmail and email to myself) then save and import them on your new device.

Gary, I do not know when or if cloud synch will ever be able to replicate views across platforms. But for what happens now, the most effective thing is to create all of the views you need right now, export all of them in a single operation creating a single file, and then import that file to your other platform.

related to views and MLO Cloud i would define the feature upgrade - below.

the pragmatics

currently i to "manual cloud-sync" for all relevant view steerings means:

- views

- Themes&Formatting

- Automatic Formatting

which is annoying

basic assumpations:

- the core schema for all three parts is the same

- there are only minor deviations by platform - basically mobile is a subset of all atributes which are replicated, but the schema is the same

based on this assumptions the feature upgrade which should work seamless could be:

- replicate the full three-part-schema across all platforms

- apply only the platform relevant subsets by platform

the main upgrade would be that what is now done manually and errorprone by many users by hand - would be included into the MLO-Cloud-Sync seamlessly.

would this work - or am i missing some technical point which is different from the removal of the current "technical debt" which has accumulated over the years.

the master upgrade would be to combine this with the dashboard - which is actually a view-management-feature ;) - and put it into the place of the current main canvas.

Add some master-layout-selection means to the mix and a great enhancement would be done :).

Please get this more close together. These days it has to be more like you have said in the basic assumptions. This has to be more consistent. Now we have these new dashboards, too - and again these are not synced across. Why? It should be the other way round: give it a possibility to "break the sync mode" and have different views on different computers - but this is not what most of us will need (!).

By the way: Shortcuts do not work in dashboards - everything else (right click) works, so I think it is just dismissed in functionality for getting v6 out - but I hope it will work later...

All the best - and I have the feeling, that the dashboard thing will be great in working when it gets full functionality.....I like my new setup: today and tomorrow in 2 different panes sitting next to each other (and 5 more panes open), great :)
