I'm using MLO many years. In 2005 I sent a feature request (that I paste where after). It is really a pitty there still no way to have that. For exemple, I need to keep track on time, resources I've spent on tasks for customers and projects etc. MLO is still wonderfull to plan the task but terribly lacks the ability to handle information about done tasks.

Does anyone found a way to use MLO to do that? or should I move to another program like microsoft project or youtrack?
Please share your thoughts.

tnx.

#F138 Metadata - New
How hard : 0 - Hard
How useful : 1 - useful
Priority : 3 - normal
Description
They relate to users wanting meta data in the outline items; meta data
that's not relavent to the task of the MLO engine; that meta data is
useful though. A 3rd new tab called "Meta Info" next to "Notes" and
"Properties" would be the right place to put that kind of info.

Now meta data can be cool....

Example: A four field meta definition.

Meta Name: "Cost" <---- Set by the user in a preference screen.
Meta Datatype: Numeric <----- selected by the user in the prefences
Meta Value: "$10" <----- set by the user in the individual items.
Meta Calculation: "Sum down the tree" <--- Selected by the user in the
preferences.

From there you can do all sorts of cool stuff.......

it would be great to have a 'number' field in the properties (with an
amount or number for money or time or budget or estimates etc.) and
have a calculation (total, average, count) applied to it automatically
in the parent node.

example:
--------

Receivable: [tot: 1540.00]
-- customerA (700)
-- customerB (750)
-- customerC (100)

this could also sumarize time spent on a project or used even to count
number of tasks under a node.
