Desktop Notifications?

Does MLO support desktop notifications? I would like it there was a notification that poped up (and allow me to check the task as completed) and then disappear. It would be nice if the notification disappears after a certain amount of time regardless where I clicked it or not.

Yes, absolutely!
HOW-TO
When a task is selected, look at the right pane ("Properties pane") (if you cannot see it, recall it with Alt+F2). Then search for the checkbox "Reminder" contained into the zone "Timing and Reminder". Just below the checkbox "Reminder" you will find a date/time. Click into it to set the date/time.
For your second request you are not lucky: the notification will never disappear.
