Hi there,

I have been using MLO app for 11 years since around 2015. I currently run 6 MLO profiles on average (and more) on my desktop and Android smartphone for day-to-day work, so I can say I'm one of the power users of the MLO app.

To kick things off, my first opinion is that since I use 6 MLO profiles simultaneously, the MLO reminders do not show which profile they belong to. I hope this can be upgraded and improved.

That's it for now.

Regards,
KC

Hello,
A similar thing occurs when sharing to MLO on Android: there is no way to specify which profile or instance receives the shared data.
If you can take it also into account for the future improvement :-)
Thank you in advance

To dziki:

Google group notified me your reply and I tried the scenario as you described, actually, Android-MLO app does allow me to specify which profile to share data to, I don't know why I can and you cannot though.

My opinion.

If the profiles are disparate, then I'd know which profile it belonged to. EXAMPLE: I have a profile for "work" (I'm retired) tasks. I also have a profile for nutrition. If I see "Have a snack" I can guess which it came from.

And if the profiles are not disparate? Then why are they separate profiles?

Certainly I can think of examples supporting a field identifying the profile. However, I don't think it's important.

To Michael:

I have an MLO profile (profile B) that handles almost all of my mundane chores. This profile generates many reminders. To keep those reminders inactive while I am out of my residence, I don't sync this profile to my Android device so I can focus on the reminders I need while away from home—during which time I use MLO profile A.
However, for example, baking bread for the next 3 days is a task that takes a longer period of time. Sometime, if I can, I also prefer to schedule it a day earlier to coordinate with other due mundane chores. So, I move the baking task from profile B (where it is supposed to be) to profile A (where it is not supposed to be, but I need to supervise it closely). This creates a blurred area in identifying which tasks belong to where. I have quite a few special tasks like this, so it is not "not important" as you said in my usage case.

To make myself clear, following my last reply, most people might think, "Why don't you just buy your bread from the store?" If such a question were asked, I don't eat stuff from stores because of concerns about food additives.

Based on your example why not just use contexts with open/closed times to prevent items from appearing in the profile?   Also, consider maybe dialing back the number of reminders?

I went through a phase with too many reminders on too many tasks and eventually I remembered that when EVERYTHING is an emergency, nothing is actually an emergency.

To Joel:

My MLO profile A has 5204 tasks and my MLO profile B for mundane chores also has 1953 tasks. With that amount of tasks in profile B, I figure it would be too much work to set open/close times, not to mention there would be too many tasks in the task list in my prioritization view—where I sort all tasks with some workaround.

As for "the phase you went through," these are my thoughts: In my case, I might have ten thousand tasks plus or minus across all my MLO profiles. When a user has their life organized through the MLO (My Life Organized) app like in my case, one would realizes there is no point in hurrying. In such a case, what things or when something is an emergency becomes highly circumstantial. With that being said, I thought about a quote from the movie Cast Away: "I gotta keep breathing. Because tomorrow the sun will rise. Who knows what the tide could bring?"
