Hi All,

I need some help with showing some tasks in a view. I want to be able to show calendar sync'd tasks in my custom "Today" view on the desktop. Here is more detail.
I have my MLO sync'd to a Google calendar and will have meetings and appointments show up in my MLO outline. The meetings show up fine with the start and stop time assigned. They are all assigned a Context of "GCal". I want be be able to see all my scheduled (calendar) tasks in a collective view in my custom MLO view all the time, not just when they appear so I can do any prep work needed. Currently they don't show up because the time of the appointment hasn't started yet.

Example is an appointment at 9:30AM - Drop off Car isn't visible until 9:30.
I want to be able to see that appointment and my others in advance.

The filters set on my view now are:
Show Actions: Active
Show Hierarchy: No
Show Completed: No

Contexts: AND
with Include closed checked

Advanced Filters:
Starred = yes OR
DueDateTime is today OR
Contexts contains GCal OR
Goal=Week

Thanks,
Leigh

Can you use a rule saying starting date is within the next ? Days? This is possibly under the advanced rules.

Thanks, good suggestion. I tried it and still having the same issue. I think its because the start time hasn't occurred yet so isn't visible in todo list due to the "Active" filter. I'm going to keep experimenting.

You probably should take away the general active filter and make all filters with advanced filter. This way, you should be able to combine active tasks and not yet active tasks.

That's basically what I did while troubleshooting. I managed to come up with some filters that seem to be working. I'm going to continue to test. Here's how I did it:

General Filter:
Show Actions: All

Advanced Filters:
Starred OR
 (Sub rule) OR
Contexts contain GCal and
DueDateTime is today
OR
DueDateTime is today

I had to add the subfilter and the second duedatetime filter beause I was getting appointments in the future with context "GCal" and I only wanted to see the ones for today. The second, non-sub filter is so I can see regular tasks that are due today independent if context.

The result of this is I get to see calendar items that are on my schedule for today, regular recurring tasks that are due today (usually admin or routine stuff) and items I have specified I want to do today (I use star for today's actions). I have learned not to star any recurring tasks as it throws off the filters

Thanks,
Leigh
