Hi all,

Syncing with Google Calendar I get the following error. Does anyone had this error too and solved it?

TExMLOGoogleCalendar: Google API Error. Code =400; Message: API key not valid. Please pass a valid API key.

Hi Henk,

Please sync with the Calendar again and send us the full log files from desktop: MLO- >Tools- >Options- >Troubleshooting- >Export Logs- >Send a received archive to MLO support.
We will take a look.

As we can see the synchronization has started working again, please check it now. Most likely, the problem was on the Google side.

We are continuing to monitor
this issue closely and apologize for any inconveniences caused.

I think the problem is a timeout on Google Calendar. I had the message today also several times.

My MLO has a lot of tasks. After trying a lot of times syncing the message disappeared.
The synchronisation works now. I can changes items on both sides without a problem

Hey there, 
I am receiving this message as well for over one week. I kept disconnecting the Google Calender, resyncing, creating new calendars, but still the same issue.
I also clicked that it should only starred tasks (~7), thus the number of tasks shouldnt be the reason still the same error. However if i keep clicking sync, I might get 4 of my 7 tasks after several minutes to Google Calendar.
Is there any solution to this isuee?

Hi all,

The error is very strange. I get it myself once in 5-7 attempts to synchronize. 

The strange thing is that the key that is transmitted is correct. All API calls are the same. However, one of these several completely identical calls triggers this error from the Google service, and the others work out correctly. There is currently no way to report this issue directly to Google, as they do not provide support for synchronization issues, and we can only rely on their forum. I am closely monitoring this problem and hope that more information will appear soon, since, probably, many developers have encountered this problem. 

In the MLO code, nothing related to the sync with the calendar has changed, and Google has not announced any changes. We will let you know once there is any update. 

We apologize for the interruption and thank you for your understanding.

I'm having this issue too. It was intermittent but this evening it was happening every time. I told MLO to create a new calendar which it did but it won't even do the 1st sync.

Even though the error says invalid key this could possibly be a rate-limiting issue.

Also, google forums are not the only place to find assistance.  You might get better/faster help at stackoverflow.  Worth a shot and nothing to lose.

thanks a million! It must have been a tough cookie, especially since you do not have any influence on 'the other side (Google)'. I still got an initial error, saying limit exceeded, but that was not a dealbreaker, next sync was flawless.
