Did My Life Organized just cripple my ability to enter tasks, merely because I decided to try the trial of Version 5?

The trial expired, so I've switched back to the prior version. I plan to upgrade to the new version when my funds allow.

In the mean time, the functionality of Version 4 appears to be seriously impaired, even though I switched my MLO file back to the older format.
I cannot enter tasks at all.

After making the switch back, when I open MLO, I see the following warning:

"IMPORTANT: The current data file can NOT be switched
to the fully functional trial mode because it was already
downgraded from the new major version."

When I then click "OK" on the warning notice,
a new notification comes up that says:

"Your 15-day trial period has expired.
Upgrade or get back to the old version.
If you wish to continue using this version [the new one, version 5] of MyLifeOrganized, please proceed with registration (free or paid upgrade is required).
To get back to the previous version, yu need to downgrade the data file format.
---> Register current major updata...
---> Get back to the old version - save file in old format..."

So, I followed directions and saved the file in the old format.  But now I cannot create tasks at all !!!!

What have I done wrong? Or is the old version not usable after trying the new version?

You saved the file to the older format. That's the first step.
Then uninstall mlo v5.
Install back mlo v4.
Run mlo v4. if required, register it with your mlo v4 license key.
Now u can use the previously saved file.

ps make a backup of your ml file before uninstalling mlo v5.
