This will improve the flexibility of MLO tremendously and allow for
more complex project managements:
- it will allow for tasks that "kill two birds with one
stone" - that belong to more than one project (matrix-like
projects, e.g. "go jogging with grandpa" will satisfy both "spend
time with grandpa" and "exercise" projects).
- It will also allow for those folks (like me) who like to
plan by the day: e.g. "Daily Tasks - 13 Feb 2006": where these
tasks are actually copied and pasted from big complex projects
elsewhere. I know that's what the To-do pane is for, but it is often
cluttered with Tomorrow's tasks and various future tasks including
those without an assigned date (unless they are hidden).
Currently the only way to do this is to create a new task and copy info
over and basically hide the task in the To-do pane. i.e. it's a
duplication of resources.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe this won't be too difficult
as the "child field" in a task "object" would already be some
sort of list (i.e. one can have multiple child tasks - it is a
one-to-many relationship), and it does not matter that one of the child
tasks also appear in some other parent's child list.
Hope you'll consider including this as a future feature.
I think MLO is great by the way, and I find it quite indispensable as a
planning tool.
One other little suggestion I would have is this: give it the option to
play a sound (configurable by user perhaps) whenever the checkbox is
ticked - it's just a little "feel good" factor on completing a
task, like a milestone kind of thing. I know this sounds a bit cheesy,
but as Napoleon once said, "Men will die for ribbons," and
sometimes we all need a little encouragement in the day to keep us
going.
Thank you.
Any developments regarding this so useful feature?
As I see, it is worth for long ago.
Thank you in advance MLO Team for your reply.
