Hello -

I am new to MLO and love the depth.  I have to be honest though, coming from some of the other newer apps - the GUI is a pretty big turn-off.  I suspect many others never even try it because of how dated it looks in Windows.
The UI looking nice actually does something for me - it makes me want to use the app more, which means I'll end up being more productive!
I am hoping it will go in a more Material Design direction.  Does anyone have any up-to-date info on this for Windows?  I saw something about a Windows user interface refresh planned in the Dec 2015 update - anything since then?

Hello gre..

I think that Andrey may be working on an overhaul of the Windows version, but I don't imagine it will be a quick thing to implement.  In the meantime, have you looked at the thread at the top of this forum - A few adjustments to the Theme and Automatic Formatting to flatten out all the graded shading, along with some flat icons, can make a big difference. In my Automatic Formatting, I've also used some of the guidance for industrial interfaces, set out by the ASM Consortium, to fade into the background those items which don't need my immediate attention.

I hope some of that helps.

Interesting - I'll check this out, thank you.   Is there anywhere I can look to find some Themes/Formatting sets to download?    I could tinker but would prefer to start with someone closer to what I'm thinking would work for me.

Oh, sorry - It looks like I didn't post my themes on that thread at the top of this Google Group. However, there is a thread with some custom themes, to which I posted my Themes and Auto-formatting rules as a reply, on this link:

In my reply, I also made a few notes on the logic behind the colour selection. This may prompt you to try some other combinations of your own, to improve on my changes. Or you could start from the "Forest" or "Midnight" theme posted by Limbic.

(that thread with attached example Themes also comes back as the first search result, if you search for the word "theme". It's titled: "Re: [MLO] MLO Themes (6 for free download) and few questions.")

Regards,
Stéph
