Iphone sync result in overwrite cloud (use remote version)

I'm using iPhone free version latest MLO. Sync is horrible, always overwrite the cloud version (I got some old activities on iphone version). Now even with desktop version, when I choose "local to server", the old activities is back to my desktop too, so weird.
So two problems:
1) iPhone version can NOT totally overwrite the local data with cloud
2) Desktop version, can NOT truly overwrite from local to cloud
WHY?
