My MLO file has gotten kind of bloated, and I'd like to start a new file with some of the existing tasks and subtasks.

Is there a way to start a whole new file with a selection of tasks from another file?

Hi.

Create the new file. Select the tasks you want from the old file. Copy them, then paste them into the new file.

Let me know if that doesn’t work. Press undo CTRL-Z if the paste doesn’t work to your satisfaction.

Take Care,

My recommendation would be to use the Archive feature. Then you'll retain your setup without effort.

Hm - this kind of contradicts the intent of MLO ;).

Why not using the archiving feature?
That is what i am doing:
- run my current planning with all actuals in MLO-file 1
- archive my completed tasks in MLO-file 2
- export in XLS format from MLO-file 1 and 2
- - from 1 for forward looking gantt like views
- - from 2 for for backward looking gantt like views
works like a charm for me :).

cheers -Alexander
