Dear MC,
I have been vocal about spamming of MyGate notices. This is a inconvenience imposed upon residents who are forced to used mygate for security reasons.

I would like to ask what is the revenue generated per advertisement which is sent on MyGate.

I also observe MyGate is advertising on the notice board. Do they also share revenue?

Is it worth for Society to get this revenue at the inconvenience of residents? Please find the data (below) related to number of  notices published in the last 4 weeks.

There will be increasing instances of residents missing out on important notifications if this  spamming continues.  I request MC to revisit their decision of advertising on myGate in the interest of residents time.

Hi Kalyan,

I don't see any option to disable commercial notification.  (screenshot attached) on MYGate. It is either ALL or NONE

Like many people, Phone is my biggest productivity tool. It disturbs me if important and spam messages are mixed up on oficial society app.

Talking about TG owners group, I have been moderating the owners group and I can tell you a lot of effort has been put by myself personally to keep it spam free. No advt are posted there. If anything point to be taken is that if things are kept relevant, people will take time to read it.   But if you spam the MyGate you are officially diluting the importance of an official tool.

Consider this data point. As a society even if I assume a minimum consumption spend of 50k per household (other than rent and durable goods). The annual spend by MHV household would be approx 120 Crores. This is definitely great potential for advertisers.   There will be even more price paid to you if you sell our Data to advertisers. That does not mean that MC can sell us as a commodity to advertisers.

Request you to reconsider this advertisement business , It is not in the interest of the society.

My feedback is  - MC IS CAUSING US INCONVENIENCE BY PUSHING ADVERTISEMENTS.
It is certainly upto MC if they want to consider this feedback on not.

Thanks,
Shraddhesh

Hi Shraddesh,

The myGate per ad amount is 2000/-

Personally, I strongly feel it is not a question of missing notifications because of any commercial or non-MC communication but people not taking the time to even opp the app to read the notifications on a regular basis.  It hardly takes 2-3 min a day to go through all the notifications, commercial or otherwise, and if heading is read, one does not even have to open other notifications if they are not interested.  Also, the filter can be applied for only society notifications and that will provide only the society notifications.  On a given day, hardly there are 4-5 notifications (all together) on average.  Certainly, that is not too demanding in terms of time or being misled by other communication happening on myGate.

Irony is people are able to identify and respond on Telegram among the tons of messages, predominantly irrelevant or non-essential, even when not specifically tagged but to state someone misses notification because of a couple of commercial ads is stretching things way too far.

Regards
Kalyan

Kalyan, I personally hate notifications and I share the same concern. We all know that having Mygate notification is essential given the purpose.

I am fine if the society wants to generate revenue through ads. But, one must have an option to opt out from receiving these messages. On top of that, there are always mistakes in the first notification and we get a correction notification too. That's another annoying notification for ~3000-4000 people. Because we are using a free plan, Mygate also takes the liberty to send ads.

We don't allow random sales people to knock at our doors and we are okay to personally disturb ~3000-4000 people.

Why can't we have an option to opt-out? That'll at least reduce the noise.

I also have concerns with the number of times a notice is edited after its send . It causes multiple notifications for the user . I am just trying to avoid wasting 1 min time and distraction to so many residents/owners for something which can be avoided :)

Can the notices be reviewed before sending so that we dont need to edit it multiple times ?

Thanks,
Jayant
