There's a (possibly apocryphal) Chandru story that I remember from the olden days.... A persistent, gnarly bug kept popping up deep in the bowels of English, and it stymied everyone at Pick Systems who'd looked at trying to fix it. Chandru sat down, looked at the assembly mode in the editor for a few seconds, and reversed two lines of code.
It worked perfectly.
May or may not be true, but it captures perfectly the essence of his intellect and deep knowledge of the internals of the system that no one else could match. He'll be missed.
