Hi John,

I'm still here! It may be that if you reply via your email ("Reply to group"; "Reply to mailing list"; or similar depending on your email client) it doesn't come back to your inbox, just goes on the google group (I'm just guessing). If you follow the link to the google group and Reply All there, I think it should come to your inbox.

I can't help re. Frescobaldi/Lilypond.

Hi John,

Just now as I'm replying to your post I notice I seem to be writing an email!
I've made some progress with Lilypond: it turns out I used the wrong installer program. I'm not completely there though: although I can see the Clairnote notation on screen, I haven't succeded yet in creating pdf files, which I used to be able to do easily.

I'm confused; i can see your question about Frescobaldi in grey as long as I don't open this thread. But when I do, I can't find the question anywhere.

I don't consider myself as someone usually having trouble with this kind of things....

Joe Austin here.

I get the emails but don't check them often.

Last time I tried to use Frescobaldi/Lilypond I got an error :

Starting lilypond.exe 2.24.3 [Untitled]...

fatal error: cannot find: c++

Exited with return code 1.

----

Lilypond forum was no help.

So I've been switching to Musescore.

It hadn't occurred to me to look for help  on MNP.

But if anyone knows how to get Lilypond working on Windows 11,

I've got a lot of music I'd like to recover.
