Now that Munki 7 does not actually install Apple software updates ever, if you have Munki configured to “install” Apple updates, MSC now acts only to make users aware of available Apple updates (and can nag them as they ignore them). Since MSC/Munki no longer _installs_ Applle updates, I’m experimenting with changing the layout and display of pending updates. Currently a mix of Apple and “Munki” updates looks like this:

Continuing to work on this, and I really like how much this simplifies and clarifies the UI/UX around Apple updates. Still wondering how to label the "action" button. "Update" could be a choice, but it doesn't really trigger an update, since clicking the button actually opens the Software Update pane in System Settings/Preferences. I've attached a few possibilities I've considered. "Show" is still my favorite, but open to others.

This looks good. I'd also be inclined towards "Show" or maybe just "More...".

"Show" makes the most sense to me

Could I suggest adding an ellipsis to the Show button, since it opens another app?

Append a trailing ellipsis to the title when a push button opens another window, view, or app. Throughout the system, an ellipsis in a control title signals that people can provide additional input. For example, the Edit buttons in the AutoFill pane of Safari Settings include ellipses because they open other views that let people modify autofill values.

That said, the Update button (for Munki updates) sometimes opens a dialog box, so it's probably fine to omit the ellipsis for both buttons if consistent text looks better.
