Hi, I'm getting conflicting bus route color data between the OneBusAway API and the GTFS static data.

For example, for route B1 the OBA data (https://bustime.mta.info/api/where/routes-for-agency/MTA%20NYCT.xml) returns a route color of 799534, while the GTFS static data (from https://www.mta.info/developers) lists 00AEEF which seems to match other official MTA sources. I don't remember exactly when the OBA data changed, but I believe they were consistent until a few months ago.

Let me know how best to proceed. Thanks!

Hi, today buses are running on a snow curtailment schedule. If the file has an update date of December 16, 2025, with trip ids containing P6-Weekday, you are on the curtailment schedule for buses. If you need the main one, I have it archived.

(Also, BusTime has a different color code than the main GTFS FYI, but the trips are the same)

Hi, just bumping this question on the different color data between OneBusAway/BusTime and GTFS. They used to be consistent.

Thanks for surfacing this issue! We will be correcting our bus route color metadata in the upcoming GTFS release in two weeks for the spring pick. Please let us know if you continue seeing issues with the color metadata.

Hi, just so you know, the GTFS is ending in 2 days (March 28), do you have an update on when the new GTFS is going to get uploaded since 2 weeks would mean, 2 weeks of every third party app dying since there would be no schedule data for the 2 weeks the GTFS is scheduled to release?

Hi Jayden, thanks for pointing that out. Our apologies—we'll be correcting the current static GTFS feeds very shortly to reflect a two-week extension of the existing winter schedule. Then, for clarification, in two weeks, we'll be releasing the new spring schedule.
