How can I create URDF of any robot (cad model) ?

Hi,

I am new to ROS and moveit .I am trying to create my custom 6 dof robotic arm and want to simulate it in moveit.

After this i will go for build a real robot arm and control it with help of moveit.

Is there any programme which can generate urdf file and meshes like industrial robots listed online by ros-industrial.

There might be better options (more automated tools), but these tutorials are a good start: http://wiki.ros.org/Industrial/Tutorials#General
