Hi,

I have motioneye OS on a Raspberry Pi Zero and use it to loot into a bird house.

In order to implement automation with Alexa, I created a start and an end script and inserted them into the motion notifications. These send "on" or "off" to HomeAssistant.

That works fine, BUT: When a bird is in the Bird House, I get a notification every 10 seconds.
Now I have set the option "motion_gap" to 60, in the hope that the END command will only be sent after 60 seconds without a motion.
Unfortunately it is still sent after 10 seconds.

What am I doing wrong?

greetings Manuel

Since you do not mention any pertinent information, like version of software (motion, motionEye, motionEyeOS, etc)
If you are using motion/motionEye on another OS (like RaspberryPiOS) you may want to post on
If you are really using motionEyeOS, you may want to post here:
You may also want to consider using the Motion support resources, found here, if you are directly editing motion config files:

Hi,

I use motionEyeOS.

motionEye Version
0.42.1
Motion Version
4.2.2+gitUNKNOWN
OS Version
motionEyeOS 20200606

I just edit options inside on the webinterface.

it now seems to send the end script afrer 20 seconds.
Motiongap is set to 60.
When there is constant motion the endscript also sends after 20 seconds...

greetings

Manuel

Try downgrading to 20190911 or upgrade to dev20201026

Hi,

seems like I have the same issue again.

As you can see, the motion end script tells Home Assistant  after 20 seconds that motion is over.

If you are using the motion /motionEye add on Home Assistant:

You can always try to get support from the community here at the Home Assistant community forums, join the conversation!

Questions? You have several options to get them answered:

They also have their own github:

Hi.

i'm not using the addon.
Its just a script that activates and deactivates the home assistant automation. The Problem is, that the end script sends after 20 seconds ans not then motion is over. even with constant moition the end script does not wait.

I would still ask over at the Home Assistant forums / help, because they may have more info on how to interact with it.
